I loved Lorca's "Sorry for the breach of protocol" when the admiral interrupted his meal.

I don't think Lorca is meant to get much affection from the audience, but so far I find him to be the most compelling character of all.

I rate him highly, he's more like Kirk than the other Captains.

The problem we have had over the years is that it always seems that only the Captain of the Enterprise can get things done when the chips are down.

For me Lorca represents all those Captains that have done great things yet remained in the shadows.

It just hit me. Lorca is Don Draper in space.

Thanks for the expanation! I seriously forgot that she didn't have the implant from the beginning. But that makes sense.

Memory Alpha isn't that updated on DSC yet, in my opinion. It took me such a long time to find out what the Admiral's name was for example, because she wasn't even listed as a character on the page.

In Greek, "nostalgia" literally means, "the pain from an old wound". It's a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone. The Discovery isn't a spaceship. It's a time machine. It goes backwards, forwards. It takes us to a place where we ache to go again. The spore drive doesn't spin like a wheel. It's called a Carousel. It lets us travel the way a child travels. Around and around, and back home again... to a place where we know we are loved.
