Star Trek Merchandise and Memorabilia Thread

Too bad AMT didn't think of that.

Don't remind me........ I did a model of the refit Enterprise from the movies and the pain I had to keep the lower hull in one piece as the top where the pylons sat was in two pieces and was supposed to be glued together with nothing else but the glue joins. No connecting pins or anything to take the weight, so it would split open..... Ouch. Hated that model.

It seems to work very well. I guess all the weight of the nacelles and the strut piece acts directly downwards at the bottom bit of the strut piece and keeps It firmly connected.

I'm tempted to get this but the shipping will be the killer. It's not available in Australia, and even if it was retailers here love to price gouge

Don't think I've posted here in awhile, added a few things since I last posted. I like the Kubros, Although I don't get them unless they're at the dollarama.

(Before anyone asks, the vacuum sealed book is the Dune Encyclopedia)

I've been working on the mega bloks enterprise all week in the evenings after work. And I'm still not finished. I did one of the nacelles this evening and I'm pretty impressed that the bussard collector lights up. Very glad I got this.

It dropped here for half price for a week in the summer, but it was still $125 so I didn't buy it. Should have though. I am planning on getting the D7 next time I have an Amazon order.

I did make the Lego Saturn V Apollo set. That was great. Until my wife knocked it to the ground...

I managed to repair it but there are a couple interior pieces missing now.

OMG I love that Enterprise drone......... How easy is that to fly?

It takes a little getting used it. It doesn't turn well but I had it weaving through my fruit orchard after a day or two. It's mind blowing to go out at night, turn on its lights, crank the Khan soundtrack, and fly it under the stars....

You can get it for about half price now at retailers. If it drops another $25 I'm going to get a back up. My first came broken and the one I exchanged it for is getting a little rough. Air Hogs said that they estimated 90% of them would never fly, they'd be bought by collectors so I don't think they made them as sturdy as they could have.

IMO it's a waste to not fly it.

I am raging with jealousy..........

This stuff is not available in Australia...... Amazon won't ship that here either, not that the shipping cost won't negate the purchase.

I wanted the Millennium Falcon drone and that was available here but in very limited numbers, and didn't have the time or money to get one when they were and again Amazon won't ship that here.

Howcome some things like this can't be shipped? I've encountered that with other items like some keyboards and motherboards.

Funny you bring up the Millennium Falcon. When they came out with it I posted to them that if they ever came out with an Enterprise I would have to pre-order it regardless of price. No one can say I don't keep my word:)

Does Air Hogs generally sell products in Australia? I lived in Wollongong/worked in Sydney about a decade ago but never really looked for toys there, being a poor 20-something. They are based here in Canada but we still had to wait a couple months after the US release to get them.

Their products do come here but not everything, and most of the really cool stuff you see from the USA is never sold here, at least not in great amounts, and the prices are buffed up.

Eesh, I googled how much it would cost to send it to you if I bought it here and it was $370! Sorry mate.

Hi peeps!

Yuss! :) picked up the QMX 50th anniversary Challenge Coin today, for $18.00 (NZD). Had been looking at getting this for a while now, so very glad to have finally done so.

It’s a great Trek coin design also.

:) huzzah!

I finally got my hands on the DST Enterprise-D. I've wanted one for years but didn't fancy paying £100 - I finally got a eBay bargain.

It's loose but in great condition. Light and sounds all work and it's complete, except for one of the stands. It's the first release missing the windows on the neck, but that's ok. It looks awesome with the lights on! Lots of lovely sculpted detail on the hull too. The seam along the rear of the saucer is a bit loose and something is rattling inside, but seems ok. Nothing a little glue won't fix.

Definitely one of DST's best efforts, along with the Bird of Prey. It's also just about in scale with the jumbo Eaglemoss TOS-E which is pretty cool. Really glad it's finally in my collection!
