TOS characters in Discovery

My wish list for future seasons:

Robert April , Anton Karidian (and daughter), maybe another operative of the Gary Seven variety, Kang, Number One (Pike's first officer), Garth of Izar, Matt Decker, and/or Miranda Jones.

Would be interesting if Miranda and Burnham were old friends or rivals, given that they're both humans who have studied Vulcan ways.

Or, hey, maybe Dr. M'Benga! Future specialist in Vulcan medicine.

If they do have Spock show up, no offense to Quinto but I would rather see Todd Haberkorn in the role.

Given that Sarek and Amanda are not being played by Ben Cross and Wynona Ryder, I imagine DISCOVERY would want to recast Spock as well.

I think Spock is going to show up in a Discovery special involving the USS Enterprise. That could be years away.

Great idea just popped up in Facebook..

If the show ever decides to explore Mudd's life more then they would need to show her Stella. And who better to play her than Rainn Wilson's Office co-star (and lover) Angela Kinsey!

I'd love for them to do a "fall of Garth" episode. Of course, everyone would freak out at a human(??) "learning" how to shape shift and totally forget that it was all established in The Original Series.
They needn't go through Garth's whole arc.

But even if they did, there's already enough precedent for that:

Stamets's hypo that gave him tardigrade powers is hand-wavily close enough to being able to give any human alien powers, as the plot requires. Squint, and Garth learning "the techniques of cellular metamorphosis" is him learning to control the capabilities he got by injection.

We'll 'see' Spock sooner than later - in a photograph or hologram or whatever. As for characters, I think Kirk is inevitable.

I'm fully anticipating Spock appearing as a child this season, via flashbacks. I'd expect to see present day version in season two, for sure. I'd like to see Kirk too, but perhaps he'd be further down the line.

Honestly, I've no issue with any of the characters showing up. Discovery is flying around at a time when we know the TOS cast are alive and well, so why not show them, and even use them for multi-episode arcs? It's not every day you get a chance to do something like that with characters who have excited for 5 decades.

Other than the connection with Micheal, there's no reason for Spock to show up - and we don't know what they're relations ship is like in '56. Especially after her mutiny.

However, Kirk is exactly the kind of guy Lorca would want on his team and he's at the low-point of his career due to feeling responsible for a tragic mishap at his previous post. That makes him easy to manipulate.

For most crew, yes. But Kirk and Spock would discuss it, if it were relevant to their mission.
Then perhaps it never became relevant to their mission.

So far, the show has not had anything to indicate that a young Kirk or Spock is aware or ever will be aware of the top secret experiments that were done on the Glenn and Discovery.
