Spoilers The Flash - Season 4

Anyways, first video is a preview for next week's episode, second i video I think might just be a general season preview?

The previews look like this season is going to be more light-hearted and comedic than past seasons. Looks fun! The new Flash suit looks amazing!

This was a great season premiere. Seeing the team operating without Barry was fun, but it was also nice to get him back. I liked that saving Iris was the thing that brought him back to reality.
I'm curious where they are going with Caitlin/Killer Frost, from the end there it seems like it's going to be kind of a split personality thing.
The setup for the Thinker at the end was interesting, it's nice to finally get a non-speedster big bad.

Great season premiere! Iris has proved to be a dynamic team leader during Barry's absence. STAR Labs just looked so deserted without Barry, Caitlin, and HR. I wonder what Tom Cavanagh's role is going to be this season.

Did anyone else get the vibe that The Thinker could be based on Metron of the New Gods? He and his assistant have that futuristic look about them. If this is Metron, why would he turn into a villain?

The youtube channel Jawwin compared her to the Hulk. I like that comparison. There seem to be a lot of parallels between the two. Both have a normal personality and a suppresed personality, changing their physical appearance, that emerges when it is triggered. The guy who threatened Caitlin when she wanted out, triggered her killer frost persona. She even had a similar line, "you would not like me when I am frosty." She reverted back to Caitlin when she was calmer and had left the bar. She also seemed a bit absent minded when she reverted back to Caitlin. I wonder if the transformation causes some memory loss.

With Caitlin paraphrasing Hulk, I wonder if Cisco exclaiming "Excelsior!" was meant to be a reference to Stan Lee?

Good season start. I liked it that they didn't extend Barry's comeback into a big story arc that takes up the first quarter of the season.. they took a checklist and blew threw it within the episode and that's all that was needed.

Of course they laid out the start for the season and good call from up in the thread about the gibberish being also quotes from past seasons (maybe not the Diaper bit but who knows :D ). I'm really looking forward to the season if what the producers said rings true, i.e. they were aware that the last season went a little too dark and it missed some of the fun of the first season so they will bring back the fun (and judging from the trailer for the next episode it sure seems like it).

Man, it's good to have Flash back! :techman:

I wonder what Tom Cavanagh's role is going to be this season.

The producers have announced that
it's Harry (Earth-2 Harrison Wells, Jesse's father) again. He'll be the main Wells, but we will see at least one other Wells at some point in the season.

Oh, no. The Thinker (Clifford DeVoe) is one of the oldest Flash nemeses, a Jay Garrick foe created by Gardner Fox in 1943. Metron didn't come along until 1971.

There are two categories of people who say "Excelsior!":

1) Stan Lee.
2) People referencing Stan Lee.

On the Thinker, if anything, the chair and tubes going into his cranium are more reminiscent of Brainiac, especially the recent Injustice 2 videogame version.

Next week, on The Fastest American Hero...
Looks more like The Flash: Homecoming.

Yes! I was just about to post that myself. Yes, the Thinker is an established Flash villain, but it looks like they're using Metron's look, at least.

This.

How long does it take Flash to come back in this episode? I loathe what they did to the "speedforce" (you can tell not one writer actually knew anything about it, and they just ripped off the prophets from DS9 because they couldn't think of a stupider idea at the time) and I refuse to watch anything with it. If he comes back 15 minutes in, I'll watch the episode. if its at the end of the episode, I'll skip the first episode and start with episode 2.

I think you're safe on this one. We don't spend any time dealing with the speedforce beyond Cisco's attempts to use "science" to bring Barry back home, Barry's confusion from being ripped out of the speedforce, Barry's possibly getting extra speedforce energy from his experience (allowing him to move faster), and Barry's eventual comments about how he no longer feels the baggage of the past.

No they didn't.

Well, it might have been a coincidence. Half the writers don't seem like they've put in the effort to do so much as look at the wikipedia pages of most characters they use, much less watch something like DS9. Still, the speedforce is just a crap version of the prophets from DS9, intentional or not.

Well that's good. The speedforce episodes of The Flash are some of the worst of the DCCW stuff (outside of Arrow Season 4, which will always be rock bottom), so the less there is of it the better.

Is it my imagination or does Keiynan Lonsdale/Wally look like he has lost a lot of weight? he looks very skinny to me.

I like how Barry was able to shave and put on his new suit before even leaving his cell.

Huh? We saw Cisco shaving him in the Pipeline. And we saw (although it was blink-and-you'll-miss-it) that he took the new suit from Cisco's lab when he sped out.
