Yeah it looks good, surprised they have gone for a close up on Lorca so soon into the season, Saru seems to be having trouble dealing with the pressure.Looks action packed! Going for a real Clockwork Orange vibe with the old cornea trick! Hopefully Isaacs didn't suffer like McDowell did! Still no f'ing Ash Tyler! Let the purists hand-wringing begin!

I'm guessing that the plot here is--POSSIBLE SPOILERS from After Trek--that Lorca is captured after returning from some kind of Federation council meeting or summit, which is at least a more reasonable reason to put him in jeopardy (at least compared to, say, going on an away mission or similar).
What's this about Ash Tyler being a made-up character? I'm just waiting for him to turn out to be Voq.
Could that device Lorca is hooked up to be a mind sifter?
Reimagined darkside Harry Mudd is finally here!
Unlike the startling originality of say...Hmm...The Orville of course! Why not? They're referencing everything else, and lifting story elements from everywhere else. It is like the writer's guide is the Star Trek Encyclopedia.

Bit idiotic for the Captain of such a critical experiment to be captured so easily, by all rights he should never leave the protection of the ship for any reason, in fact non of them should its a security risk.
I know what you mean but I suspect if L'rell is the one that captured them - I presume they were knocking about near the Shenzou? Then maybe they did not expect for any Klingons to be about that sector? Still a bit slack though!

Yet you still appear to watch it?Well, if Discovery was entertaining, it wouldn't really matter what the writer's guide was. Too bad its not.
