Avengers Infinity War (and beyond) anticipation thread

That too. You'd think we would be getting something by now. Unless they're saving it for the release of Ragnarok.

If that's true, that's a lame excuse. The universe is big enough for the two of them.

Ragnarok isn't out for another month and yet we haven't gotten anything for a film that comes out in May.

It's out November 3 in the United States, which is just under a month from now. I thought it was a week later than that so I guess it's not too much of a stretch for the trailer to come out then.

Maybe with the release of the Star Wars trailer tonight, Disney didn't want to be hyping two big projects at once.

In addition to Star wars they just dropped a new Justice League trailer. I think it would be wise to wait until the hype dies down a bit from the other 2 so the attention of that day can focus on Avengers

And what Comic Con saw was what? Chopped liver?

According to Feige, a lot of shots weren't fully done yet, but still released as a bonus for people attending the Con. They want something that's proper for the real trailer.

Or something like that.

Does a trailer really take that long to put together?
I could see them deciding to hold off on any promotion for Infinity War before Ragnarok comes out. Even just a trailer for Infinity War would be probably overshadow anything for Rangarok, so I could wanting to keep the focus on that one until it comes out.

I saw the SDCC one, it didn't feature many effects shots, and the ones that did were of the sort you normally see major changes in between trailer and finished movie.

It was about 80% dramatic closeups of faces and voice over. So I can believe they didn't have much to make a proper one out of at that point.

The longest good shot was the GotG picking up Thor which is literally the start of the movie and the most finished bit.

Okay, fair enough. Still, you would think they would have something sense then by now. I guess we'll find out in a month.

I think they wanted to have that one generate the hype, then take the time to think out a proper full trailer. I have a feeling they'll reveal very little in the trailers for this one.

They need people watching this one after the disappointment of Ultron, and the effects work will keep going until short of release.

I admit though, some of the smaller shots like

Loki holding the Tesseract, walking through a street packed with dead bodies

did not need much in the way of CGI to have it's impact.

I'm still pissed they never released the Comic-Con trailer online. I read a bunch of articles at the time that made it sound like they were going to release it fairly soon after the con was over, but there's still no sign of it.

Great covers. Nice to see Don Cheadle and Elizabeth Olsen getting front and center positions as oppose to the big leads.

I'm surprised to see Gwyneth Paltrow getting an appearance on one of the covers as oppose to say Zoe Salanda or Sebastian Stan, especially considering Pepper is the only non-enhanced character highlighted.

Interesting to see Evangeline Lilly is on one of the covers, too, considering I thought she wasn't going to be in Infinity War (but would be in the sequel) so that she would debut as the new Wasp in her own film as oppose to the mega-film. Perhaps she's there to represent the second film (which they've already begun filming)? I haven't read the article yet, (although it's sitting in one of my tabs waiting to be read), but perhaps it gives some insight why she was included here.

She must have a REALLY good agent, as she was also 4th billed in the closing credits of Spider-Man Homecoming for her less than a minute cameo.
