I was dead set on NOT paying for CBS All-access just on principle - I did not think it was right to make us pay to watch Star Trek. But my daughter lives outside the US, and after watching three episodes, told me I need to watch, so I caved.

    There, I feel better.

I paid for the ad version, and it's AWFUL! Everytime you try to click to any part of the show, it makes you watch a minute and some of ads. If you pause and walk away from the computer for too long, it resets and makes you watch the ads. What a freakin' rip. No match at all for Netflix or Amazon Prime. I hope they don't think that's the kind of service they're providing, because it sure as shit ain't.

I sure hope CBS gets fleeced for this in the long run.

I know.I am old.but I am reluctant to.watch a special effects ladden show on a small crappy tablet and tinny speakers instead of a.big tv with sound system. While I dont love the idea of paying for.it.. I would.pay the 6 month for it to be on my tv not on a 7 inch tablet

It runs on the TV if you have access to things like Amazon Prime, or alternatively Bluetooth streaming from your device.

You can watch netflix on TV, but you need some kind of device that connects to it. Apple TV or a PS4.

Or just plug a laptop directly into the tv with a simple HDMI cable.
