Ahhhh I loved this series when I was kid. Glad to know it wasn't my Crush on Eric Close induced nostalgia that made me remember it as amazing television.

By the way it is out on DVD, at least in Australia: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv...-fi/now-and-again-the-complete-series/888956/

*i just realised i replied to a post from 2008. Sorry it's late and I'm tired*

    I got a few:

1 ON UPN around 1995 I think it was you had a show about a guy who I think created computer program characters based on people in his life and the characters got out of the computer. Levar Burton for example played a ex-boss that was trying to kill him and Doris Roberts was his mother in Law who was doing the same. Cyntia Gibb was his girlfriend on the show.

2 Life on Mars" : The British version. Stared John Simm who we know as, The Master, on "Doctor Who" and it was a modern cop stuck in the 1970's.

3 "Millinuim" and "The Lone Gunmen" both created by Chris Carter who created the "X-Files" The first was about a guy who helps catch serial killers and then in season 2 it becomes more about evil and angels. The other was the comedy Trio from "X-FIles" getting their own show.

4 Also I'm no sure if this counts but Bruce Campbell was in a show called "Jack of all Trades" created by the Xena,Hercules etc people. It was set in the old times and I think the British were the bad guys plus it had MIni-Me in what might have been his second best character play Napolean.

I loved Special Unit 2, it's tied with Firefly as my favorite cancelled show. It followed a secret unit of the Chicago PD that dealt with monsters.

Flash Gordon, the 1950’s series. Some episodes may look like they were shot in someone’s garage, but it still holds your interest.

Sci Fi also had a modern version of "Flash Gordon" but I didn't think it was all that great.

Also this isn't a show but two mini-series people should check out, one would be "Taken" about two families impacted alien visitations starting from the 40's to the present day. The other which I forgot the name just now is about this key that opens every door on earth and it's part of a hotel room that went missing. Also the world has many objects with powers that were once in that room. Anyone the hero losses his daughter in the room and he has to find away to save her.

Just recalled the name of the mini-series. It is "Lost Room."

If you'd stuck with it, they really turned that show around. :)

Later, Ming was in a fantastic sitcom called "Living in my car".

Star Cops - the BBC TV series from 1987. The stories were very good, although the predicted technology was hit and miss, especially with regard to the extent of exploitation of space in the solar system in our time frame. The main lead has a somewhat Siri-like personal AI assistant to which no-one else has access. There are otherwise no tablets or mobile phones IIRC, although PCs appear to be large tablet-like touchscreens embedded in actual desk tops. The science of the series is solid and believable.

Would "Defiance" count as a little known gem? I liked it pretty well and it was the first sci-fi channel show I had watched since "Stargate Universe" got canned. The world the created was pretty interesting and most of the characters were good. I especially liked the super white alien family with both the scheming husband and wife.

Googles says that there were still 600 people playing the Defiance MMORPG as of Jan 2017, and the wiki says that it's not been canned yet.

The TV show was a thing, I suppose.
