Other characters did not get shafted. Sorry. Other characters were always there, they were just more Disney related than anyone else. Well not everyone, most iron man and cap fans are kids same for Thor and especially GOTG. Please even X-Men the animated series is more for grown ups than all the mcu movies.
No cap is no logan or or x-men, reason he needed Disney to help him. The MCU movies are not original, they all manufactured film makers don’t like mcu movies and think they are horrible. The acting in their movies are not superb because their movies have not much of a plot. people have complained about chris Hemsworth, rdj and chris evens acting. Comparing the acting in those movies to partick Stewart, ian mckellen , hugh jackman in xmen movies is a joke. And no it is not about making the villains the stars if the movies. A great movie always have good villains and good heroes that are equal to each other... see sam raimi spiderman, Christopher reeves superman and nolan’s batman too. Mcu movies have weak villains because all their movies are light hearted comedic stuff.
Regular marvel fans are actually xfans, reasons the regular marvel fans rejected the agenda to try and pass of inhumans as xmen or when marvel tried to turn some xmen into inhumans and avengers in the comics and marvel fans were not having it. Regular marvel fans do not like how all the marvel movies are too dumbed down by Disney and appreciate movies like X2, DOFP and Logan.

Derivate will be mcu movies and mcu characters. That is why all of them can easily get lumped into one universe and why xmen can exist in their own solo universe, you only give people their own universe if they are compelling enough, as proven that is xmen, that is not mcu characters. Xmen has always failed as a S.A, okay keep telling yourself that I guess you need all the lies and comfort you can get. Me and the rest of the words know the fact. I think the key here is asking people think very hard to realise that although xmen is marvel property, it is far above the mcu to ever be lumped into Disney kids stuff like your iron man and captain America.

That is a lie about inhumans, in fact Kevin feige knew of the inhumans agenda to replace xmen and since Kevin himself is an xmen fan and really wants xmen in the mcu, feige said no to the agenda so that was the reasons inhumans became a tv show and ike plummter still tried to use inhumans to replace xmen and people said no....you cant replace the xmen Lol. The is the same ike that has been marginalising xmen for 5 years now and all it has done is hurt marvel and make xmen look even better.
It was not spidey, sorry. Marvel fully came out of bankruptcy in 2001, the first Spiderman film came out in 2002. And no spidey movies were not ashamed, if anyone is ashamed of comics it is mcu movies that like to play into the narrative that comics is just silly kids stiff not to be taken seriously.

X-fans are not toxic, if anyone is toxic it is mcu Disney, they are the ones that tried to kill xmen and they have failed at it now they are trying to get fox to give up the rights of xmen..
I doubt nolan likes xmen for free publicity, Nolan is a good director that like good movies. MCU movies are not good movies. But I can name a few. The director of thor 2, joss whedon, scott ridley, the director of Selma.

Seriously, as someone who loves both the X-men and the other marvel properties, too, the amount of utterly insane bs being flung in both directions here is just depressing.

The prison that Black Bolt was in is the most poorly guarded prison in America, because if it weren't then he couldn't escape and "Felicity" and Medusa couldn't meet. Etc.

the sad truth is that what you said is the perfect description of mcu movies. mcu is the home of every other marvel series and all of them are the same, feel the same and look the same. we cal this the marvel formula. there is no formula for xmen movies there is only director competence.

The first movie just barely pulls it off, the second one gave us that lame cop out of Ock's tentacles controlling him and the 3rd was a bust.

It is. The whole Hellfire Club brainwashing thing is silly and the end is basically just a build up to suicide. The only reason for the plot was to get rid of Jean because she'd been too overpowered.
It's just a rip-off of the Molecule Man storyline from Fantastic Four. But the X-Men writers don't want anyone to know that so they suppressed the earlier stories.

All Marvel characters could exist on their own. They just put them together because it's more creative than being standalone.
X-Men was standalone in the movies because FOX doesn't have the rights to all the other characters and they lack a creative Head like Kevin Feige. Now they're actually thinking of combining X-Men with the other FOX characters they own because MCU did all the hard work for them.
Yes, all their other villains suck like Sinister, Apocalypse, comic Stryker, the Hellfire Club, etc. Their Rogues Gallery stinks, and both Iron Man and Cap have better Rogues.

Yes, the 90s cartoon is what really got people noticing them. Before then their comics were just as niche as anything else at DC and Marvel. And Claremont's a hack, has been for over 20 years.

Nope, it's truth. Feige canceled the movie because he wanted to focus on others like BP and Captain Marvel, so Perlmutter forced the TV Department (where he still has power) to do it. He also rushed the project, gave them a lower budget, etc.
If Feige had wanted to make the movie on his own, it would've blown Gifted away.
It was in production before 2002, that was just when it was released. And yes, Spidey was unashamed. Which is why it's the influence for the MCU and not X-Men.

He does, he only said he was inspired by them because at the time their movies were known to the public. If Iron Man came out before Batman Begins he'd say he was inspired by Iron Man.
Whedon has no problems with MCU, it's Perlmutter he disliked. He said he's be willing to come back if they wanted. Ridley Scott said nothing about MCU, and the director of Selma is just upset they didn't get hired to direct BP. It's professional envy, nothing more.

The X-Movies have nothing but the same formula. Always the X-Men being purely reactive and never proactive. Always the X-Men being fine with the status quo instead of trying to change things and it being some human doing something bad that they react to, Xavier always being a coward and never putting Magneto down when he really should. It's the same old dance for 17 years.
The only formula the MCU has it "success" and "Heroes who are actually interesting".

As someone who's not a comics reader, I find it depressing mixed with the feeling I'm Picard at the start of "Darmok."
Man, Inhumans must be so good because it's barely even talked about in it's own thread. I must've programmed my DVR wrong because I missed Friday's episode though from wht I hear I didn't miss a thing.

Can someone tell me WHY they spent millions to film on location and hawaii for a pilot that's basically a 30 minutes setup PADDED to two hours for little to no reason?
I mean come on.
- They don't explain why Triton was sent to Earth for this one particular Inhuman female being hunted.
- As soon as Gorgon (the 'leader' of the Royal Guard) is away confirming Triton's death; suddenly we find Maximus has co-opted the ENTIRE Royal Guard to form a coup.
- Perky teen Inhuman Crystal manages to wisk Blackbolt away at the one moment Blackbolt could have ended it all (by taking out Maximus -- Hell it looks like he disintigraded his parents in an accident that left the rest of the room intact in a Flashback).
- This version of Lockjaw has a HORRIBLE memory as he can't remember where he took anyone previously (In the comics, if you asked Lockjaw to take you to where he took the others, he'd put you NEXT to the person.)
- Supposedly the Inhumans have been monitoring Earth society and know about 'money' but don't know how ATM's work (IE - the scene meant I suppose to be funny where medusa requests money? What? Is Marvel really sunk to that level of 'humor' in it's TV division now?
- Black Bolt feels his leather jacket (that looks pretty much like almost any other black designer jacket) is somehow so out of place, he decides he needs to 'look like a local' so he just walks into a shop and doesn't get that he needs to PAY for the clothes - or that Police exist. (I won't talk about how they neutered his voice's power level - so now a groan (which in the comics would level a city) knocks a single cop car 50 or so yards? Wow -- really dangerous. (yeah, yeah, it's still enough to cause some havoc, but come on.)
- Gorgon finds former Hawaiian soldier surfers by stupidly almost drowning himself looking for Triton -- who when told - "Hey, beings with super powers are probably coming to kill me and could wipe you all out..but I have to fight for my King..."; respond with, "Hey, we once had a King, sure we'll get out the army surplus weapons we've had in the shack for just such a situation and help..."

The entire season is filmed in Hawai'i, due to tax incentives the state offers for filming there, and due to ABC and Disney's past experiences working in Hawai'i with shows like Lost.
They explained that Black Bolt had sent Triton to find the newly created Inhumans (resulting from the events of Agents of SHIELD over the past couple of seasons) and bring them to Attilan. This was just the one he happened to be dealing with when Maximus's mercenaries attacked him.
Not unprecedented. Coups can't get very far if their leaders don't manage to sway the military to their side. And I doubt it was the entire Royal Guard; they probably dealt with the loyalist guards off-camera.
Sure, that happens all the time in fiction. Like in The Undiscovered Country when the Enterprise crew rescued Kirk from Rura Penthe just before the warden told him who was behind the conspiracy.
As I believe I remarked before, Lockjaw has little experience teleporting over a distance greater than the width of Attilan's dome, which would increase his margin of error. And it's logical that he wouldn't have yet learned how to correct for the rotation of the Earth's surface.
That was much, much less than a groan. It was the barest gasp. And they had to show what his power was capable of somehow. It's not like screen adaptations are legally obligated to give characters the exact same power levels they have in the comics (which tend to be wildly inconsistent anyway). Lots of Marvel and DC screen characters don't even have the same powers as their originals.
That was 1988, and it was actually pretty fun. Highly revisionist, but no more so than the original Hulk series (Dr. David Banner, physician?). I didn't think it was a good idea to bring a fantasy character into the fairly grounded world of the TV Hulk, but it was still an entertaining story.

This one didn't work as well for me as last week's. The writing felt pretty clumsy, and the whole thing is still so divided, with no two main characters being in the same place. It was a bit of a relief that BB and Medusa finally reunited, which should ameliorate that going forward, but that didn't help the bulk of this episode too much.
Medusa is still the hardest character to like, and we got to see how spoiled several of the other Royals are in ways that didn't flatter them. Gorgon is still coming off as the most decent one among them, thanks to his compassion and camaraderie toward the surfers/mercenaries/whoever the hell those guys are. Although having him actually say "I never thought I'd care about the death of a human" is a bit heavy-handed. Show, don't tell!
But the most stilted line was Auran saying "Black Bolt's death is essential to our plans." To the guy who came up with those plans and sent her to kill Black Bolt, so he hardly needs to be told that.
We finally get an explanation for why Lockjaw put them all down in different places -- because teleporting that far wore him out and made him "sloppy." I preferred my idea that he wasn't used to teleporting over such a distance to a differently moving planetary body, and thus had a greater margin of error than usual. Although had that been the case, he probably would've materialized in the upper atmosphere or underwater or something.
The CGI on Lockjaw is excellent, very lifelike. Although someone pointed out last week how wrong it seems to have virtually no physical contact between a dog and the people around him, and though I hadn't thought of that before (not being a dog person), I can't help noticing it now that it's been called to my attention.

Gorgon's hooves or lack thereof is a bit cheap and too convenient.
Maximus' crew is lucky the Inhumans aren't more ruthless.
Not Melissa Benoist hanging some lampshades on the Inhumans culture and behavior was welcome.
I don't know, I enjoy this show, it seems as good as the CW shows if not better in some aspects. It's not profound or anything but it's an easy and breezy watch.

Louise strikes me more as a Felicity knockoff than a Kara knockoff. Especially this week with the nonstop rambling while working on a laptop. She's not as likeable as either one, though.
Having a great cast helps. Inhumans does, pretty much across the board.
Yeah, Medusa is definitely the least likable. Overall, I like the rest of them, especially Black Bolt. Maybe the fact that he's not talking helps prevent him from seeming as stuck up.
Yeah, once noticed, it's hard not to notice that. They used a stand-in model, so some physical contact should have been possible, but I get that they had to be careful with the CG-animators not to screw up their work.
I liked this episode. I hope these plots end up having relevance later on, though. It's eight episodes, but only eight episodes so you don't want too many tangents. I like that Desmond (since I don't know the character or actor's name) is ignorant of Maximus's true origins. I think it's plausible Maximus reached out to him to solve his Terrigenesis issue before this whole thing started and that's why they intersected.
