Let's not go nuts.
That pinning makes a lot more sense...where it's an active show, that is Star Trekky (pun intended), but only has a first season (is the back half even guaranteed yet?). The new stuff can be on top, but easy to search for older threads...Being as this is a Star Trek BBS, it's no surprise Discovery got a sub-forum right away, no?
I suggested in QSF that they might at least pin the Orville episode threads for a week to ten days each. But as long as we're loving the show and posting like mad people, the latest epsiode thread should be near the top anyway.
Why the hell not?
And that's with large, longtime fan base. But at the same time, I fought for years to have a Doctor Who forum created before we finally got one.We should definitely wait until we get word of a second season, even then, I don't know. I mean, sure the Orville threads are smoking hot at the moment, but once the season is done the threads will dwindle very quickly. Just look at the Doctor Who forum during the off-season. Outside of major announcements like the new Doctor, there's practically no activity there at all when new episodes aren't airing.

Didn't they do this for Lost?I guess the question I have is, how hard can it be?...to, y'know, add a sub-forum?
And then, if the shows goes away, to remove it?
Maybe, but if it's still as hot on November 1 as it is today, it might not be a bad idea to jump the gun on a subforum. Especially if it looks like there's a good chance of renewal. We should definitely wait until we get word of a second season, even then, I don't know.
Nah, that would make it worse. Some of those threads are big enough already.Perhaps subject consolidation into a single thread would help?
