Which species do you think humans most relate to?

I would say humans, of the current era, relate most to the Andorians. Not quite as violent as Klingons, but definitely prone to letting their emotions and anger get the best of them.
I agree. The Andorians also would have been much better allies than the Vulcans.

I'd say we relate most to the humans in the Star Trek universe, even if they're an idealised version of us.

Bajorans and perhaps Romulans

Unlike the Andorians, Vulcans, Telllarites and Klingons, the Bajorans don't really have a hat that sets them apart from humans. Hide the nose ridge and they'd essentially be humans who worship some odd religion.

Overall I think the Andorians might be fairly similar to humans. Maybe a bit more militaristic, but generally it's a race with a history of war that aspires to peace and goes on to form the Federation.

I also warmed to the Andorian comparison. But really, all those alien races pretty well reflect one subculture or another on Earth, now or in the past, and nothing human makes us one thing. We're all over the map - maybe that's why we can deal with most of the races and find common ground with all of them.

This is exactly what I was going to say. I think that Andorians are the most accurate representation of what humans today are like.
