What Scene Drives You Crazy

Spock is extremely intelligent and I think he has supreme powers of memory retention. Thus, his experience in his role as controller for the vast civilization probably gave him significant knowledge that he'd retain for years to come. I can somewhat believe that... just not surgery to reconnect the brain happening from the top of the head!
Maybe he read up on it before he was removed from the controller position, so McCoys wish comes true and the "universe" now had the knowledge to do brain transplants through's Spock's retained knowledge.
Finally something good out of that episode. ;)

Have to say, if there's one thing Spock should have been reading up on during his time as the Controller ... sure, the chance to apply it might be low, but if a plausible chance comes up he ought to be ready to assist.

It sort of made me feel that McCoy was redundant because Spock was telling him how to operate on himself but I doubt that Spock would have been able to retain that knowledge anymore than McCoy could have!

Spock is very in tune with the workings of his own mind, being Vulcan. If something feels off, he'll tell McCoy "wrong one, Doctor". That's why they keep people numbed and awake during real brain surgery.
