WB's Justice League 2017 movie pre-discussion thread

That, or you have some of the usual suspects (certain MCU fans) who cannot wrap their minds around the idea that superhero movies can be larger than life and serious, instead of the Transformers/stand-up tributes which make up too many MCU films. Its no surprise some of this kind of fan cannot stand the best films of the MCU--the Captain America movies--because they're not in the 90s comic/cartoon tradition seen in the Avengers and Guardians movies.

Most fans of the MCU place the Captain America movies near the top, especially Winter Soldier.

These conspiracy theories are great, especially when they ignore the obvious and simple "sometimes people just don't like bad movies". It doesn't have to be more complicated than that. Many of us are (believe it or not) fans of the DC universe and want to see amazing stuff from it.

Wait. Unless Wonder Woman (and all of the accolades) was secretly produced by Disney and Marvel? Is that the missing piece of the conspiracy puzzle? It all makes sense now.

He seemed a bit goofy later on as well with the sunglasses, tilted head and cap and attitude but maybe that's just how he is.
 
I suspect Ezra Miller is one of those individuals who like to have fun with people. He seemed to have something of a wacky sense of humor.
 
I don't see the problem. Out of this group of heroes, the Flash is naturally going to be the fun one, the team jokester. I think Miller's entertaining.

Indeed. I'm multicultural -- I like Marvel *AND* DC... and I would gander that a number of critics of the DC Film Universe, DO like DC TV.

From previous video of Ezra at COmicCon, it certainly seems like he is just having fun.... which seems like another big difference between Marvel and the DC Film Universe. Mnay of the actors from the movies & TV shows seem to have fun outside of the actual production (like the Lip Sync Wars between Agent Carter & AGents of SHIELD, or the Guardians Inferno video), and Ezra Miller seems to be one like that. As much as I think that DC TV FLash & Arrow could easily fit into the DC FU (or at least until Supergirl came around), if there wasn't DC TV, i'd very much accept Ezra Miller, as his character & his fan interactions.

Yep. I like both of them as comic companies, and I enjoy DC TV quite a bit (with a rare exception now and then, like now really liking Arrow Season 4).

Please. Its no conspiracy theory when certain "fans" while on an on about how "dark" DC films are and specifically point to Guardians and the Avengers movies (among others) as the preferred contrast...which happen to be the most lightweight, jokey films in the MCU. Moreover, this faction has also criticized the Cap films (Winter Soldier a bit more than others) for being "too serious" or essentially charging them with being Bond/Bourne movies with superhero trappings.

No sale. WW is anything but the stand-up/Power Rangers show that is so much of the MCU. In the WW review thread, I recall some trying to pick at the film for its increasingly dark themes leading to the final battle and Steve's death...in between the by-the-minute whining about Zach Snyder.

I've heard many who love the DC movies and feel the DC TV series are silly, misguided, and not at all a film version of the source, etc.
 
I've got no problem with Miller's personality. Wally West was always the jokester of the group, anyway.

I'm too old to follow him "on social". :) I don't really have a problem with him but it seemed a bit of a put on though I can't blame him trying to have fun with what looked like a pretty corny promo.

Could you maybe try not being so damn condescending when talking about MCU fans? It's seriously starting to get annoying.
I'm a fan of the MCU, Arrowverse, and the DCEU, in that order.
 
I love the first two Reeve Superman movies, the Nolan Batmovies (own them all on DVD or blu-ray) and regularly watch the DC TV shows. I liked but didn't love Superman Returns, MOS, BvS & Suicide Squad. I happen to prefer the Marvel films but gave up on AoS after S1 and am struggling with Iron Fist. Didn't enjoy Wonder Woman at all.

The whole 'DC v Marvel' thing bores me, I just want to be entertained by films and TV shows. That's not to say that my tastes are objectively better than anyone who has a different view on the above films & series, it just means that they differ. Talk of conspiracies are ludicrous, IMHO.
