Very nice! Does this mark the first time that a woman is the chief costume designer on a Star Trek show? Nice to get confirmation on the theory that the uniforms were intended as a natural progression from the Enterprise jumpsuits.

show yes, but deborah everton had a hand in redesigning the starfleet uniforms for first contact, which obviously impacted DS9 and voyager. though robert blackman always gets credit for that iteration.

i believe i got that tidbit from the recent star trek: costumes book.

That's surprises me I thought everyone understood that the design came from first contact.

And TNG 's 2nd season had a female costume designer, I think (on phone to lazy to check) Durinda Dice Wood, I think.

It is a bit weird to care about natural progression from uniform that existed a century ago though.

In any case, has there been any pics of the long-sleeved away team uniform without the protective vest? I'd really like to see how that looks.
