That was a great little scene! They really seem to have done a great job with the cast!
Check it out, some segments of actual scenes from DSC in this one!
really love the use of Alexander Courage's fanfare in the desert scene!
Ugh its region locked
They never mention that she's the captain, just that shes the first female lead of colour. they also don't go into detail about the haters so to speak until there's about 2 minutes left in the interview. They talk about how hard it was to get any footage and the secrecy around the production, the kiss in 1968, how ST: DSC is continuing star trek's legacy, the quality of the work by everyone and SMGs feelings around the reaction to her casting as well as the haters. This is why I don't watch news. They started the interview saying she was the black female captain, twice, and now most of the interview is about being the first black female captain and focusing on the haters. Instead of focusing on the haters, why not focus on the fans who are supportive. This felt like a negative interview when it didn't have to be.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Very good.Starting at about the 4:27 mark of the video, Martin-Green says the following:
"...I think that when you have a story that shows a picture of a utopian future..."
So it seems that ostensibly the people behind DSC think it shows a utopian future -- as opposed to the fears of some fans that the tone of it will show a "dark", gritty, and warring future.
I thought Martin-Green's dialogue sounded a lot more natural than Michelle Yeoh's.Sonequa's acting in theses clips is bad. It's been bad in every trailer/clip/promo we've seen of her.
They spent a lot of money on this show, but based on what we've seen thus far the writing feels cheap.
I think they have a different definition of "utopian" than me. They already said that the first season will focus on war. That is the opposite of utopian.
They've both been really bad from what we've seen thus far. I've been critical of Yeoh's dialog and acting in that scene all the way back to when it was first released.I thought Martin-Green's dialogue sounded a lot more natural than Michelle Yeoh's.
I like Michelle Yeoh, but her dialogue in that scene on the desert planet seems highly unnatural. Maybe it's just her accent (sort of like the way Marina Sirtis' fake accent early in the first season of TNG made her acting sound very unnatural) -- although the difference here is that Yeoh is using her normal accent, which Sirtis later did as well.
Well at worst they have the same definition as TNG, which featured the aftermath of the Cardassian war, so significant it drove a Starfleet Captain rogue.I think they have a different definition of "utopian" than me. They already said that the first season will focus on war. That is the opposite of utopian.
