    Game on!

I know there's some college football fans around here, so let's enjoy the season.

First up, my beloved Trojans won today but did not look great.

They did, however, have the most heartwarming play in years. Check out the extra point here. Not usually a big deal...unless your long snapper is blind.

Can Clemson repeat? Will Alabama ever suck? Will the BCS work out?

    Let's get it started!

Cal went to the east coast and put up a really solid effort. I'm impressed. Both sides of the Bay won in week 1. I hate the fact that Stanford's next game is against USC though. Seems way too early for this kind of rivalry game.

Florida State's season just might already be over, what with the leg injury of quarterback Deondre Francois

I'm glad that game is at home.

Georgia Tech could have won that game yesterday against Tennessee several times (fumble, multiple botched kicks, etc.). But no, we had to go and lose in double OT. At least we went down swinging, instead of drawing out yet another OT. At least we seem to have a decent quarterback, even if he doesn't throw very often.

And I had a lot of unhappy relatives watching Texas A&M and UCLA. The first and second halves of that game were entirely different teams on both sides! Since it doesn't sound like A&M is getting their first half quarterback back anytime soon, I'd say their season is already in the dumpster.

At least my wife's team (Auburn) won, even though it was against an FCS opponent.

Oh, and as a former member of the Georgia Tech Drumline, this *really* hurt!

After a pretty handy win again Rutgers my Washington Huskies have moved up to #7 in the rankings. I wish I had gotten to watch the game, but was busy with family last Friday :( Looking forward to some of the conference games again, especially USC (who I'm guessing will be the Pac 12 South champs based on the rankings at the moment and performance from last year). The WSU Cougars pretty dominant from what part of that game I did watch of the game on Sunday. I wonder if the Apple Cup will end up being a Pac-12 North championship game (kinda sorta) again.

I'll be at my third college football game in a row this weekend. I went to the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff Game  to see Jacksonville State completely own Chattanooga for the 5th straight time. Then last weekend I got to see the return of the UAB Blazers (girlfriend's alma mater). This weekend I'll be at Georgia Tech to see JSU again. Tickets were $7. Cheapest I've paid so far.

Are you sure you're inside the stadium?

^ As a GT alumnus, yes, they go pretty cheap. Especially for a game against an FCS school. (Although my own search came up with $15 as the cheapest for that game. )

Our seats were pretty good. The first half of the game was fun, but without a QB, we're going to have a rough season.

I highly recommend the GameTime app if you live in a big city. They've got $8 tickets against Pitt next week.

Man, JT Barrett has somehow regressed as a passer. Mayfield is a warrior.

It seems like Mayfied has been playing college football for 7 years!

My beloved Trojans put up 623 yards of offense last night, including two 100+ yard running backs. Could Thunder and Lightning have returned to the USC backfield?

FYI, GT was giving away free tickets to the game to Irma refugees this past weekend. Just thought that was very cool of them! :techman:

Stephen Carr actually looks like he may be just as good if not better, than RoJo. Certainly Carr has as much break away ability. There is also that other kid who is a bit shorter and stouter, but appears just as quick as the other guys. SC might return to being a running team this season.

I have seen them referred to as Lightning and Lightning. Carr is going to be great.

USC Texas game way too close for comfort. But now that it's over I can breath again. Very ugly win but I take it.

    Yeah, that game was painful.

Our defense played really well, but what was with the offense? We had 3-4 possessions in a row that started in Texas territory in the first half and got 0 points out of it. Everybody looked off: Darnold, Rojo, everyone. If not for that crazy touchdown right before halftime, we would have lost this game.

Washington State is an absolute trap game. Mark my words.

It was nice seeing UCLA go down. I caught parts of the Vols/Gators game (poor Tennessee!), and the Holy War (which was pretty lopsided).

    Overall a good day.

I enjoyed the Wisconsin and Miss State games. Mercer nearly had the Gus bus go off the cliff.

    'Bama was sleepwalking.
