Ever feel bad for a extra or actor with barely no lines who dies in a genre movie/show?

Off topic but...what was the point of Billy telling Laura that the girl was on a ship that couldn't jump. It seemed like it was unecessary to rub that in her face.

Possible but maybe she felt that she might be able to do something like bring the girl over and save her. It's been awhile though so im not sure how much time Laura had to make a choice between finding out that info and when they actually jumped.

I should note that when I made the thread I was thinking more along the lines of the characters than the actors. I had no idea that we had people here that have actually been extras in a movie. I think I do recall though years ago on the board we had someone who said that their mom was one of the people the Chekov and Uhura were asking about the "Nuclear Wessells" in Star TREK 4.

I can't think of any specific examples off the top of my head, but I generally feel sorry for all of the people who get stuck in all of the destruction at the end of movies like Age of Ultron and Man of Steel.

I'm kind of like that as well in movies that show alien invasions or the world coming to a end because of a disaster. Except for the idiots in "Independence Day" who go up on the roof and start trying to get the attention of the alien spacecraft and wanting them to beam them up. They kind of had it coming.

That's a good choice. Over the top death for someone who has maybe 3 lines. I saw a few others in a "X-Files" I watched yesterday. It was the one were they guy had no arms or legs but he could kill people by becoming something of a spirit. He was killing military people who he blamed for his condition which he got during Deser Storm.

Anyways he doesn't kill the soliders but people around them just so those people he blames will sulder. I means a woman aide to one general and then his wife and his child who dies a particular bad death of being buried alive in his sand box.

I think he was that guy who pilots the ship but never talks. I thought he was a homage to some of the TNG pilots post-Wesley Crusher who show no emotion or reaction even when Picard gives them a order.

I got to be an extra for a day and got paid $177 for my trouble.. It was fun to watch how things were done, so for me, it was worth it..

Damn! I only got $75 for a day's "work". But I did get to raid the crew's snack table and meet Kevin Costner and his stand in, so.....ok.

She was a pretty big supporting character up to her death, so I don't know if I'd call her an extra or actor with barley no lines.

He was very nice. They had told us extras to stay in the designated Extra Room and he made the effort to come in and speak to us and take pictures. Ashton Kucher on the other hand was an arrogant poop and acted like we had cooties. Sela Ward had dinner with us nobodies and was very friendly. She was the only star to share the meal with us. I was sitting on the far side in the scene I was in and thought that I recognized her sitting in the front row and was straining around people to get a good look and she caught me. She just smiled real big at me. Not mean or aggravated at all. I was totally embarrassed, needless to say.

Funny thing is, I just saw Anthony Montgomery on TV an hour ago in the role he plays on General Hospital.

That's pretty awesome! I think maybe i got a little more because i was filling in for a "specialized extra." This was on the recent Lone Ranger movie shoot and i was filling in for one of the train engine crew. While they were considered extras they were also technical staff because they ran the "trains", which werent actually trains. We got to stay with the engines when the other extras had to leave the set. I got to say hello to Johnny Depp and he was nice but Helena Bonham Carter seemed rather aloof.

What was really fascinating was watching them film all the separate pieces of the scene, like the explosions and then watching the final product with everything put together.
