Ever feel bad for a extra or actor with barely no lines who dies in a genre movie/show?

I can think of a few.:

1 The nerd teenager who gets caught in the middle of gun fight between the 2 terminators at the arcade in "T2." Looks like he was just carrying a bunch of drinks and then he starts getting blasted.

2 The little girl who gets left behind because she is on a ship that can't keep up with the fleet in the "Battlestar Galatica" mini-series.

3 the pilot from the pilot episode of "Lost." Greg Grunberg always comes off as a likeable person so its sad to see him die so quickly and so badly.

4 The people in the horrible transporter accident from TMP of course. The screams say it all.

5 The soldiers that are guarding Tony Stark and are just kind of being friendly in "Iron Man" at the start of the movie and then they all get killed and he gets abducted.

I've been an extra in a movie so I usually just think, "I wonder what they got paid for that little bit?"

They knew how small their roles would be. I feel neither way for them.

Sometimes. Especially if the character dies horribly. Here's a few I can think of:

    1. The "What seems to be your boggle?" guy from Demolition Man

    2. The Human Shield from Total Recall

    3. Kinney from RoboCop

    4. Colm Meaney as the British co-pilot on the doomed plane in Die Hard 2

I think the worst might be having all your scenes cut, except for the death scene.

Hey I think some would take a death scene over no scene's. Can you imagine what would have happened if Harrison Ford had been able to stay in "ET." It would have put him on the map as a actor.:)

I spent all day in an RAF base filming as an extra for Torchwood. I got paid quite well for the event but was cold, tired and by 10pm I just wanted to get the hell out of there. And then when the episode finally aired, all that made it was three seconds of the back of my head.

I would have loved to have been involved in a death scene, because that would definitely have involved screen time. When that episode aired, you can say 'That was me!'

Okay I haven't done much else in extra work so it's possible it might become boring doing it all the time. However, if you are doing it all the time, then there's always the next job and more money.

Nope, assuming that the flick isn't a real snuff movie.

I felt sorry for the mass of Rebel and Imperial fighters on Scarif when a paranoid, drunk on power Grand Moff Tarkin decided to piss on all of them at once with the Death Star.

When we saw that movie, my friend Frank turned to me and said "The way my luck goes, that would be me."

I got to be an extra for a day and got paid $177 for my trouble.. It was fun to watch how things were done, so for me, it was worth it..

A former coworker of mine is the poor guy in Top gun who gets the tray of coffee spilled on him when the Top Gun commander's office door gets swung open.. He was in the Navy at the time and got chosen to do the walk on... Sure, it lasted all of about 5 seconds, but the guy has a great story to tell for the rest of his life.. So yeah.. No, I don't feel too bad..

I'm confused, are we talking about the character or the actor? Because those are two very different situations.

Off topic but...what was the point of Billy telling Laura that the girl was on a ship that couldn't jump. It seemed like it was unecessary to rub that in her face.
