Howard isn't allowed to become an astronaut.. sickening.
Yes, I know he was "allowed". Even though they weren't even married at that point, he still had to have Bernadette's approval, and she initially said no. Amy had to shame her into changing her mind.Howard was allowed to become an astronaut. It was pretty much pure torture for him, though, and he went a tad looney up there.
That's been a staple since the Golden Age of TV and before that radio. My point is, a staple of the modern American sitcom is to have the boyfriend/husband/father be clueless and dopey, even on this show, where almost all of the characters are geniuses.
http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/delete-system32^ I hope that someone explains this because I have no idea what it means.
After and endless stream of forgettable MPDGs played by unforgettable actresses, I hope they finally do better for Raj.
I think Amy is by far the worst offender. She's always insulting the things that Sheldon is into. Calling the tv shows he likes "cheap sci fi", refering to his comic books as "childrens' cartoons" and collectibles as "childrens' toys"The four guys are all actual geniuses. And in typical American sitcom fashion, the women treat them like they are all fools. The worst offender here is Bernadette, who emasculates Howard at every turn now. Howard has no say about what he does with his own house, Howard has to throw his Tardis away, Howard isn't allowed to become an astronaut.. sickening. If my wife treated me that way, I would divorce her.
The original unaired pilot featured Gilda, a geek-girl friend of Leonard and Sheldon. It is mentioned in passing during the episode that Gilda slept with Sheldon while both were at a Trek convention.
I think Raj has great qualities, but is spoiled and needy. But Raj is just so weird.
I suppose Howard is willing to put up with a lot because when he is not looking in Bernadette's eyes, he's got quite a nice view.
