Trek relaunch reading order?

Jeter's Bounty Hunter Wars Trilogy in Star Wars was similar, in some ways - vivid, widescreen imagination, but interpretations of the characters completely mutually exclusive to previously published appearances of the same ones. Surprising that trilogy made it through editing, really - it could not be clearer that he hadn't read the Tales of the Bounty Hunters collection that introduced all the characters he was working with and their stories.

Thrawn----> Update soon....Maybe..... :)

Guys, dont forget about the Prometheus series, it's part of TrekLit too! Only the Almighty Reading List has it on there....

I'm definitely going to add them to the Litverse Reading Guide. Just waiting til the English versions come out.

it feels super weird though to have read them before they were out in English, German publications generally take ages to get translated.

Yes I know, it is weird that a Dutchman reads TrekLit in German mostly, it just is so since I started collecting the books in German and need to finish the series in the language I started in.

Funnily, according the release dates on amazon the German language edition of Declassified was released nearly a whole month before the English Original. Not sure who accurate that is, though. Cross Cult has Declassified release date as 4th of July, a few dates after the English version.

is that series any good? haven't started on it and I have too much to catch up on already anyway. Still need to read more than half the books I already bought

Vanguard is really great and definitely worth all the cash you'll have to throw at folks to get the copies :D Way better spend money than that one time when I spent 42€ on ENT: The Good That Men Do. In hindsight I should have sold my other ENT relaunch books and get the whole series as eBooks...

Jinn---->Tell me about it!!! Smh..I'm starting my first delve into TOS literature.....I did some research on Vanguard and Seekers....Great authors...Solidly seeming content...Looked on eBay...OMG....Some are asking, on an average, $25.00-$35.00 for any one of these titles...I know the cover art is gorgeous, but....Wow....grabbed Declassified on my Nook and started Almost Tommorrow....Using Ryan's Litverse guide for help :).......Where can I find some decently priced hard copies of both these series' ? I did grab Seekers 1 yesterday at one of my local B and N's...

I think the most ridiculously priced book I ever saw was Cross Cult's translation of the Dominion installment from The Worlds of DS9 for about a million euros. Somehow I don't think the retailer was completely serious... I unfortunately don't know where you can find copies of those series but if you really only want to read the stuff (which I presume you don't since you look out for the books) I can recommend Kindle Unlimited, they have pretty much all of Cross Cult's book up to The Fall for 10 bucks per month. Although I can also understand the need to collect that stuff physically.

Something that worked for me was checking with my local comicshop and they had some really ancient stuff there. Not sure if there is something similar where you live, or if there are many comicshops that have Trek novels, but maybe that helps :)

Hi Jinn--> Appreciate the expedited response....Looking for a decently priced online book dealer/seller to ultimately obtained the entire Vanguard/Seeker series.....besides Amazon and/or B'n'N anyone use any reasonable sites out there...

I try not to buy any e-books, I hate to read e-books. Besides I need to have my collections filled up.

Personally I had pretty much the same opinion of eBooks, but now, to me, it rellay just comes to what I'm used to more. I began reading a lot of eBooks once I read pretty much every Cross Cult novel and went on to the older stuff. Since I've got only so much space (and Pocket's novels aren't the prettiest, IMO) it seemed logical to me to switch to eBooks there.

Normally, besides my above mentioned comments on wanting hard copies of the Vanguard/Seeker Series', I have come accustom and am now enjoying ebooks. Cheaper, can usually find the odd ones and old ones other places will charge you an arm and a leg for. Of course, in retrospect, I'm 32 and already have astigmatism ughh. Probably should stop reading the ebooks off my Nook and Kindle app on my small Galaxy 7 smart phone and acquire an actual Nook or Kindle Fire, bigger screen, less headaches...smh....:)

32 here and also with astigmatism. You will love a dedicated e-reader, it changed my life! I have the Kindle Paperwhite, and personally, I prefer just the black and white screen. The battery lasts forever and it is so light. While I like having lots of toys, I really like toys that just do one thing, so any tablet functions I use a smartphone for and use my ereader as a dedicated reading device. It's also super easy on the eyes.

I'm mostly e-books for a while now, there are just way to many to many advantages for me to go back to paper books all the time. There's the storage issues, the adjustable print, and the fact that they are all the same size no matter the format or length, so I don't have to worry about dragging around a huge book if I'm reading something really long. I can also read whatever I want without having to deal with people making comments or staring at me.

I just need the books in hand tbh, only problem is finding a way to get myself 'programmed' to read my German books. I speak Dutch and English all day, so just sitting down and reading German is somewhat hard.

Don't get me the wrong way, I love the books and the language isn't the problem. THe problem is finding/making the time to read, ánd to get me to read german.

With my Kobo Aura H2O, I have. no trouble reading eBooks. If you have trouble with your eyes, the H2O is better than a Kindle as you get a 6.8" screen and many more font sizes. The light is very nice and on the new model, you can adjust out the blue light if it bothers you. If you live outside the USA, and your local library has Overdrive, you can borrow eBooks. The screen being larger means it larger text looks better. A Kobo is way better than a Kindle for those with any sort of eye problems.

Those Strange New Worlds novels look interesting with them being set in the far future.
