Which part? the question or my assumption? Thanks for answering though, I know that English isn't your primary language, so I'll put your "tone" down to a failure to translate.

I'm having trouble parsing what that statue is showing, but it looks like it could almost be Klingon!

This is the one that sprang immediately to my mind, for obvious reasons. (Admittedly, though, I've never heard of the British Columbia one.) But we tend to steal a lot of place names from elsewhere... I'm actually from London! ;)

Oh, and just because I have to....

"So you don't confuse it with Sydney, Kansas." *ding*

    Or maybe...

"Dimesdan would be excellent at CinemaSins!" *ding*

If you started replacing each component of the statue piece by piece, over a period of time, when would it stop being the original? :rommie:

I just picked up the hardcover version of "Mosaic" at a thrift store today with DJ, and still looking like it just came off the press.

Precisely why I went there. I was fairly sure i could get an angle with Theseus, the Minotaur and St Mary's Cathedral's spires all in the same shot, that would be Klingony enough.

When I did #WhereisDaytonsbook? for the Vulcan guide, I went to the Sydney Opera House, which JJ Abrams selected for the world premiere of his 2009 Trek movie, supposedly because it reminded him of a Starfleet insignia.

Scov, a member of Sord's race (Filmation's TAS: "The Jihad") features in the Christine Chapel "Waypoint" comic by Corinna Bechko & Christopher Herndon (issue #6) out this week! [Sord of TAS was a reptilian sentient being who worked with Kirk to solve a theft on Skorr. I once postulated online that Sord was Gnalish and writer/creator of the Gnalish species in the TNG novel, "Reunion", Michael Jan Friedman, liked the idea, thinking that Sord was perhaps a Fejjimaera Gnalish.]

Lieutenant Xon is the feature character in the second story in this month's "Waypoint" comic from IDW (issue #6) by Gabriel Hardman! Will Decker and Ilia are also there. "The Fear: A Star Trek Phase II Story".

Also out this week from IDW is the "New Visions" photoplay comic, "All the Ages Frozen" (#17) by John Byrne.

I've bought so many books lately that I have no more place to store them, and there's another 6 or so which I've ordered or am still going to order. I kinda want to get my series completed. Only need TNG 2; 3; 5; 8 - 12; VOY 2; 3; 4; 6 - 10; The Fall 2 - 5; Titan 1 - 7; Rise of the Federation 2; and there are some more series I want/need to start and then finish but this will suffice for now.
I am somewhat limited at this time in most of what I buy since I buy most of them in German and not all have been translated yet ...

I just ordered the Excelsior: The Many Worlds of George Takei graphic novel, which coincides with the current exhibition at the Japanese-American National Museum. There were lots of other Takei goodies at the online shop, including the official program book for the exhibition, several collections of Takei's writing, the "To Be Takei" DVD, and the soundtrack CD to his Broadway musical, "Allegiance"!

Waypoint is doing a Phase II comic? That's kinda awesome. Now I almost wish they were doing a whole "alternate timeline" Phase II ongoing series.

Although I guess I should actually read this to see if it's any good, first... ;)

Sorry if it's somewhere on the board and I just missed it, but what is Designing Starships: Volume One? Is it just a compilation of their individual magazines released with the ships, or is it something new?

From the TMP Appreciation page on Facebook:
Hardbound, featuring design histories, photos, sketches and illustrations for more than 30 ships, including all seven prime-universe Enterprises. The first 20 pages or so feature the TOS Enterprise through "Planet of the Titans", "Phase II" and ST: TMP. It has very nice big images with some text from the TMP and Robert McCall design contributions. The books cover all the ST eras TOS, TNG, Enterprise, Voyager. Much of the content is repurposed from the magazines that come with Eaglemoss's collectible starships... but there's new stuff as well. Beautifully done... and especially useful for those who love starships but haven't subscribed to the Eaglemoss collection.

"The Starfleet shuttlecraft entries are particularly noteworthy as these production background articles had not been previously incorporated into the source magazines."

V'ger is included in Volume 2, but not yet available in Australia. "The two V'ger chapters are entirely new, as no such source publication existed in, or was foreseen for, the collection at the time of the book's publication."

I took advantage of the IDW Star Trek digital comics sale and got TNG: Ghosts and the first collection of John Byrn's TOS: New Vision Photocomics.
