Went to LFCC last weekend just to see Doug Jones and Walter Koenig......they both cancelled. I did meet Tricia Helfer from BSG so it wasn't all bad.

I suspect lots of people go alone. It'an opportunity to make new friends. I've been doing cons/events for a long time now and I meet up with friends/aquaintances at these events (whom I meet at a previous event)

Yes!
I actually do that as part of a Country music festival forum, we meet up every year for the festival in London, and several time through out the year for other gigs, coming from all round the country. Made some great friends.

I've got my ticket for the Saturday now that I know Nana and Rene have been booked (at the moment). Cirroc and Armin have also been booked. It's also been billed as the 25th anniversary of DS9. I wonder (more hopeful than anything) if Avery, Colm, Alex and Terry will go as well. I'd also love to meet Marc Alaimo. Got my ticket booked for a photo with Armin in make up too
