Some new Discovery photos

I can't believe it. Those misaligned asphalt shingles in the transporter room are the final design. So sloppy.

The non-linear look of that wall seems (IMO) to be due to an intentional design aesthetic, NOT due to the intended aesthetic being poorly executed in a sloppy manner.
My thinking is that those are the pattern buffers, and over time they've had to be adjusted and set a certain way for the most efficient transport operation.

In professional television production, everything that you see is intentional (except for the occasional minor visual discontinuity or whatnot, which this is not).

Its not misaligned, its perspective. We have seen them at a few angels here. They are not crooked as I feared, but its a shift in perspective
Indeed.

When I saw this image below (the first image we got of the transporter room), I could see that the walls have a "shadowbox" look to them, the thin faces of which may be splayed -- something like (but not exactly like) an anechoic chamber.

The crookedness that others were talking about was just due to the perspective from which you were looking at those "shadowbox" features.

Even factoring in perspective it's crooked. The other blue-tinted transporter room that was shown recently has better alignment on them. Someone must have bumped them. I guess if the ship's damaged you could rationalize it.

The middle one isn't rectangular, it's deliberate. Not damage, design. Weird backgrounds have been a feature of transporter rooms since TOS.

Maybe they sway back n forth when the fans start blowing.

They're designed to sway back and forth. It's clearly intentional.

Maybe those panels articulate when the transporter is activated; the move and shift in various directions as the angular confinement beam is focused or some other technobabble reason.

That was my canon, thief!
So will the series be a hit or not if those panels look crooked? I'm getting lost here.
The series is ruined. I, and everyone else(because I speak for everyone else) cannot overlook this infraction.

Actually, I'm getting info now that Les Moonves may end up pulling the plug on the series because of those damned panels!
