Discovery at SDCC - Consolidated Thread

Oh my gosh, beautiful stuff! Thanks for finding these, @RAMA, it's really appreciated. I hope they'll release an “Art of” book about the creation of the show at some point, these concept drawings are beautiful. The uniform looks great in white. And finally we have a good look at that uniform variant background characters are wearing in the trailer.

It's cool that they actually built that spacesuit Burnham is wearing in the trailer. Here I thought it was just CGI.

It IS CGI in the show. Like the klingon spacesuit. What they "built" is a small scale 3D-printed and later painted model of the CGI-model. Which has no moving parts or can be worn. It's just there for representation.

That all-white medical uniform is insanely sexy. I can't believe it's the same design as the blue ones! They should have just made all the uniforms white instead! It's really striking, and how I imagine the TMP uniforms would look like if done in a reboot.

Where was this confirmed?
Confirmed? I haven't seen it. BUT! A few years ago plenty of people were experimenting with CGI makeup on desktop systems, so by now, with motion tracking as good as it is, there's no technical reason a lot of make up and costuming can't be all CGI.

That adds all kind of potential to television SF!

All these Klingon armor and weapons are the kind of stuff I want to just hang in my house. The attention to detail is astounding. They look like museum pieces.

Looks like there's an away team uniform under the tactical vest - the collar is different and the piping is dark blue, not divisional.

The space suit in Discovery is both a real costume, as seen in the pictures, as well as a "digital stunt double" CGI version for wide shots in space. I DO know this for a fact, so he was correct.
