Mundane Plans

I think I need to upgrade my blinds to wood slats. My cats keep breaking the plastic ones.
I keep my vertical blinds closed and the horizontal ones open. Yes, it's inconvenient because my apartment is level with the parking lot and people can look in if they want.

The alternative is ruined blinds and a hefty penalty to replace them. I don't get to choose the paint or blinds for where I live, so I just have to keep things as "cat proofed" as possible.

If you get wood blinds, just make sure the cat doesn't take one look and think, "Oh, new scratching post! My human is so good to me!"

Mundane plans... my soap opera is on in 5 hours.

Done. :)

(Have you ever been to the Stampede, @Timewalker? It's AWESOME! )
*waves back* :D

Actually, I never have. I've been to Calgary during the Stampede, but didn't actually go. The closest I've ever been is watching the parade on TV.

I'm one of those rare Albertans who is bored silly by rodeo, and as I got older I found that I don't handle crowds very well. I used to go to the annual Westerner Days here - went to the parade (was in the parade one year when the theatre group I worked with put on our own version of the Royal Wedding and had the backstage workers playing the various parts), went on some of the rides when I was a kid, and took in the creative and commercial arts exhibits when I was an adult. Sometimes the family would go to the grandstand show (I'll never forget 1976, when the Irish Rovers were the headliners!).

What all did you do at the Stampede?

@Timewalker - the rodeo was my favorite part of the Stampede. I went there every day. Usually in the evenings I went to concerts (Johnny Reid, Brooks & Dunn, Alabama). Also loved the huge evening show at the grandstand (even though this year's show was hosted by Jann Arden who I really didn't care for), and drinking & dancing - well, watching other people dancing  - at Nashville North. Didn't go on the rides, though. That's not really my thing...

My only regret is that I couldn't get a city tour of Calgary itself. Google fu came up with nothing. :sigh:

I plan to go to sleep soon. My mom and niece went grocery shoping and if I am asleep I won't have to help carry them inside.

I may have to have a few more gin & tonics before I leave the airport lounge.

Edit: Five. I'm surprised I made my connecting flight. I barely remember getting on the plane! :ouch:

Why would you have to help carry your mom and niece inside? :p

They ended up not even going to the store which is good because I couldn't get to sleep. They ended up bringing home Pizza. Now I just got to see who is going to blink first and be the one who put's the extra pizza in the fridge.

I have a new cleaning schedule that I started today. Instead of spending 3-4 hours on Saturday, I use a single hour in the morning before work, Monday through Thursday, to do the separate tasks.

I need to build 2 sets of shelves for the former dining room now media room, if I can scrape together the money, sometime in the remaining summer.

I need to reorganize my library and free up some floor space for my Titan-Class Transformers display to add Trypticon.

I need to get with wifey and update her medication and allergies lists and print out a dozen copies for hospital and specialist visits.

I need to clear out the drawers in the bathroom sink cabinet and trash what we're not using.

I suspect I will be spending the next 30 minutes or so running my tongue over my back tooth trying to get some leftover chip that is stuck in their, out of their. I wish I would someday remember to get tooth picks.

I need new sneakers because the gym I'm joining doesn't allow street shoes. You have to bring in a clean pair of shoes and change into them to use their facilities.
