She did seem to hesitate before giving her name, which could be because she's used to giving an alias, but decided in this case to use her real name.Nice to see Jyn though I thought it was weird that she told the little girl her real name instead of using an alias.
^They're 2 minute shorts. That rather limits the scope of the narrative and potential for intrigue, no?
Economy of storytelling often means that there are more fun questions to unpack, but are not necessary to understand the story itself.
Not to be pedantic, but, sorry, it wasn't "obvious" otherwise I would be agreeing with you and not calling it in to question.Which is obviously my point. As I already said, the previous episodes' plots have been small enough to fit into such a brief frame, but this one was a lot more open-ended and raised questions that could easily have driven a longer story. It's natural enough to be curious and want to speculate about where those questions could've led if there were room to investigate them. Also, seeing TCW characters invites comparison to that show's storytelling style, so it's natural to wonder where a full TCW episode (or multiparter) would've taken this premise.
Then I misunderstood and I apologize. It read to me like a demand for my storytelling being put in to a 2 minute short. It's got nothing to do with understanding. I'm not asking for explanations; I'm about 40 years older than this show's target demographic, after all. Unpacking the fun questions is exactly what I'm trying to do.
Evidently not.I think this is the last one before the hiatus. Then it comes back in October.
Also, didn't Leia and Sabine meet before, when the former guest-starred on Rebels? Or was Sabine off somewhere else in that episode?
@Reverend, ease off on the interpersonal replies. It's not necessary. That goes for those of you who "liked" the post, as wellCongrats, you entirely missed the point of a two minute short aimed at children.
This isn't the "Leia got a new outfit" story, it's the "Leia learned to appreciate the courage and ingenuity of the seemingly powerless" story. It foreshadows their alliance with the tribe and explains why she was playing dress-up when everyone else showed up for dinner: she was playing diplomat. Generally it's the done thing in diplomacy to graciously accept a proffered gift as a prelude to a dialogue.
Obviously they made it after she showed up. It's a simple thing that wouldn't take a skilled seamstress very long. An hour or two at most.
And to answer your next stupid question: obviously they have reams of material on hand, or did you think those gliders built themselves?
The Ewok TV show was a Saturday morning cartoon. It was never canon, nor was it meant to be (and no, neither was the EU either. No, not ever.)
I can't tell if you're being facetious or not, so I'm going to be charitable and pretend this was an attempt at ironic humour.
Presumably when Ahsoka and/or Sabine show up? I mean what did you expect? A re-enactment of something we've already seen? What would be the point in that?
Yeah, mine too. Does anybody know when the Forces of Destiny merch is supposed to start coming out? I doubt I'd bu any of it, but I am curious to at least check some of the stuff out.
Might be released in phases and then they'll gauge interest from there.Cool, thanks. I'm surprised the Ahsoka one comes with a Tooka, I would think Jyn would make more sense given how her episode played out.
I just checked Amazon and it turns the first book comes out in August, although they're geared at grades 1-3, so they are aiming younger than I thought they were. I thought there were also going to be some geared towards at least middle school age, but I guess not.
