"We come in peace; shoot to kill."

Do you accept that it's Prime because the producers said so,
Well I was taking the mickey. Really, how can anything be "killed"? There are three Kelvin universe movies, they're never going away even if the movie series doesn't continue. TOS similarly is never going to go away even if this new series renders it's visuals (at the very least) "non-canon" to the Discovery universe. What is it with "killing" and you people? Wow, that's quite an attitude! They're not killing off anything. They're creating a new TV series.Looks to me like they're killing off TOS and replacing it with something that looks a lot like the Kelvin Timeline.
Which I'm fine with![]()
Well they've just said that there's a universe changing event. If I had to make a guess at this point I'd say it starts in Prime and ends in the Disco-verse.Of course. Why wouldn't we?
Nobody knows more about a thing than those who are MAKING that thing. Who are we to contradict them?
If they succeded in killing off the Kelvin Timeline with this show, I'd be a happy camper.
The question still remains-Why? Nobody is forcing anyone to watch it, and its mere existence doesn't take away from Prime Universe at all, any more than the existence of the Mirror Universe, or Universe B, or all the parallel universes did from Prime.Instead of killing it off, can we pls just delete it?

THats a prety bad misquote of the EW article. The quote simply means her choice had massive ramifications. They've also said before the event was referenced before but never fully explored. This means the choice is exactly what starts the prime universe. Affecting the universe and creating a new one are totally different things.Well they've just said that there's a universe changing event. New times and new technology changes the looks of things the 1960's technology is very different from the 1980's or 1990's or 2000's or 2010's because of technology changes the look changes so if you like the story and it fits in good with star trek then it is star trek no what unverse it is from prime 1 or prime 2 or mirror 1 or mirror 2 or you think that it is from another unverse of unverses of possibles it is up to each person to choose.Well I was taking the mickey. It's just one possible interpretation. I can't think what previously mentioned event could affect the entire universe, and given Meyer's quote about Discovery being in a niche that allows for its own stream, it's the theory I'm sticking with for now. Basically I'm imagining some event at the end of part 1 of the pilot where Burnham has to change history (perhaps the Shenzhou is wrecked and Captain Georgiou dead) and so now she and Saru are serving on Discovery. That's my crazy theory for now. I'll throw it out when more evidence comes along.THats a prety bad misquote of the EW article. The quote simply means her choice had massive ramifications. Btw, what is this "event" that was mentioned and not seen? Surely someone has compiled a list and narrowed it down by now.
