Spoilers Arrow - Season 5

How does a sword make Diggle drive his car in such a manner :wtf:

If it was sharp enough to cut through the driver's side door, he would've had to jerk sideways to avoid it, and that could've caused him to lose control.

and I wonder where this version of Malcolm lies in the timeline.

Eobard Thawne recruited Malcolm for the Legion just hours after Oliver killed Damien Darhk, i.e. May 2016, and the Legends returned him to that same time. So this Malcolm is about a year older than when we saw him last on LoT.

I would of preferred Helix to be behind it to set them up as a villian for next season instead of the grey area they seem to occupy at the moment.

I think it's too early for that. They can wait until the season finale to set up Helix as the Big Bad.

Do you think the show will ever address Oliver's confession to Adrian, earlier in the season? Or will it pretend that nothing is wrong with Oliver and sweep that moment under the rug?

They dealt with it two weeks ago, when Felicity made Oliver realize that Chase had been wrong about him and Oliver's "confession" didn't count because it was after a week of torture. You just don't want to hear it because it doesn't fit your biases. You have this bizarre and frankly quite disturbing belief that the only way a character can be flawed is if he's an absolutely ruthless murderer, so you keep putting forth this astonishingly counterfactual claim that the show has never portrayed Oliver as a flawed character. The show has always been all about exploring Oliver's flaws and his struggle to overcome them. Believing that Chase was right about him was one of Oliver's flaws -- his crushing self-doubt and guilt almost destroying his ability to strive for something better. And Diggle and Felicity helped him work through that guilt and remember that it was still worth fighting to improve.

I take it Dinah and Rene were hidden somewhere behind the bushes? ;)

I presume they were left out due to a limited guest-star budget, but I kinda wonder if maybe they actually got away and will be pivotal in the others' rescue next week.

Which just made me realize, that last time we saw him, he was a willing participant in a plot to create a reality in which his daughter was horribly murdered by his partners.
Now he is back to Thea is the most important thing in his world?

Actually Thea wasn't one of the murdered heroes in the "Doomworld" reality; there was a line that reality had been rewritten so that Thea adored Malcolm -- also Tommy and his mother were still alive and Nyssa al Ghul was leading a "miserable, closeted life" in Ohio. So he pretty much got everything he wanted. The masks in Damien Darhk's display case belonged to the Green Arrow, the Flash, Spartan, Black Canary (the Wiki says Artemis but that seems unlikely), Wild Dog, Ragman, and Vigilante (plus whatever Felicity's nom de masque was).

Oh, I thought I remembered seeing Speedy's mask in the trophy room.
That makes sense then.

Green Arrow, Nyssa, Merlyn, Deathstroke... now there's an unlikely Team Arrow :D

I can't guess who's going to be the first to betray Oliver among these three. My default bet is on Merlyn, of course, since that always has been his thing. But, oh boy, he does have some strong competition now.

I'm kinda hoping that Anatoly shows up to join Oliver's team of villains. After seeing their past friendship juxtaposed with their recent falling-out, I think it'd be nice if Anatoly had second thoughts and decided to be a better man once again. That'd be a nice resolution to their arc over the past few episodes. And since we now know that Anatoly was key to setting up Oliver's "rescue" at the start of the series, it would be nice to bring things full circle by having him rescue Oliver now.

No, you are wrong, that conclusion would be trite and overused, not to mention lazy.

Ah . . . they swept it under the rug. I see.

I've enjoyed this season but I almost feel like they made Chase dangoroudly close to Darkh last season. The superpowers aren't there but Chase always wins, even when Oliver thinks he got a victory. I think about this season as a whole and to borrow a lyric from a song we all know, "it's been a long road, getting from there to here".

That said I enjoyed the episode and the Arrow as a series so far summation we are getting. I think all 5 seasons were represented in this episode, and it was nice to see Yao Feye again.

I am hyped for the finale though. While we are treading close to rediculous territory, I do think the finale is going to be epic.

A Part of me wishes they would totally escalate that showdown with Oliver not interested in a fair fight.
First we see him recruiting all those villains/antagonists,
Then confront Chase
Oliver: "I have a question and a Message: Where are my friends?"
Chase keeps shit talking Oliver "What's the message?"
Oliver then gives a signal and the rest of his team appears:
Flash, Kid Flash, Vibe, Killer Frost, The Legends, Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, Superman, Batman taking out all the villains but Chase in a heartbeat.
Oliver: "Do you want me to repeat the question?"

This may or may not be slightly inspired by Doctor Who xD

I wish that Adrian Chase would survive the season. He really is a first rate villain. But I suspect that he won't.
