The season premiers on the 16th of July.

Thank you for starting a Season 7 thread. First it was the teaser, then some stills and then some pictures from Season 7 (including that AWESOME Drogon/Danny picture that's currently my desktop wallpaper :) ). Now we have the trailer! I've watched it at least 6 times now. Well done trailer; the cinematography looks truly epic. I cannot wait! 53 days to go!

Edit to add: Perhaps you should mark this thread as "Spoilers Beware" or some such. Don't want anyone to stumble into something they don't want to hear about (or see) without ample warning.

Looks smashing as always. :D

At some point Cersei is going to realize everyone hates her, right?

Damn, I really need to get caught up, I still haven't seen anything past Season 3.

I can hardly wait. I am hoping that it is true that one of my favourite characters is returning this season.

At some point Cersei is going to realize everyone hates her, right?

I was thinking about that. Up against her she has

-The unsullied
-The Dothraki
-DRAGONS
-The Reach
-Dorne
-Half the Ironborn
-Maybe the North, I dunno if they're more concerned with impending Ice Zombie attack

It seems implausible that the Lannisters could stand against all that. Something must change to shift the balance of power.

I am not sure she will be against the Reach. It all depends on who gets power there after the death of Mace and Loras.

Olenna is in charge of house Tyrell now. We saw her teaming up with the sand snakes last season, and there were Tyrell ships in the big fleet heading to westeros.

Unless maybe Randyll Tarly has his own plans...

Yes, it is Randyll Tarly I am thinking of....he has a very strong army and does not think highly of women.

Edited to add - this is assuming that Show Randyll is pretty much the same as Book Randyll which he does seem to be.

Daenerys has finally arrived! I know it's only a trailer, but it appears as though Daenerys is thrashing Cersei's forces. I don't think any Westeros army would fancy a showdown with what we saw in that final shot.

I think the biggest problem for Dany is that she is the only dragon rider. This means her dragons can only be in one place at a time which is a major drawback.

She needs two other dragon-riders. Jon could be one. There has been suggestions that Tyrion might be another though it is a bit late in the show to explain how he could be a dragon rider.

Another possible is Gendry though it has not been stated in the show, though clearly stated in the books, that the Baratheons have Targaryen blood i.e. Robert Baratheon's paternal grandmother was Rhaelle Targaryen (youngest child of Aegon V). Also House Baratheon's founder, Orys Baratheon, was rumoured to be the bastard half-brother of Aegon the Conqueror.

New trailer, complete with that music:

Beric returns with his flaming sword!

Edit: I didn't notice this until I rewatched the first trailer, but I like how Littlefinger's speech to Sansa in the second trailer parallels Cersi's speech in the first trailer.

^ *Viewer Beware* there are some spoilery clips and images in that preview/trailer. I loved it!
Q2

Cersei still has a metric ass-ton of wildfire under King's Landing. She only cooked off the small bit under the Sept of Baylor last season. She could just turn the whole damn city into a smoking crater if she feels her position untenable, which would parallel nicely with Dany's vision she saw way back in Season 2 (was it?) when she walked through the burned-out husk of the Red Keep's throne room, with the roof apparently missing, snow falling on everything.

And it would put Jaime in a very familiar position, albeit a far more awkward one. However, it would be a nice alignment with the books (i.e. his feelings about Cersei).

^^^ Hadn't thougt of that, but yes, I could see him drive his sword through her if he thought she was going to give the same order that Areys did. He already appears a bit disillusioned of her since he returned after the death of their father. I don't think it would take much for him to take such a step. He already seems like he's trying to redeem himself for his actions in her name.
