Star Trek Discovery on Netflix

This is great news for Netflix subscribers anywhere except the U.S. and Canada, which have to see it through CBSAA. Or just wait a few more months for the DVDs.

I take it CBS is the same as the other UK terrestrial channels (apart from the BBC) filled with adverts?

I think CBS said a month or so ago that viewers on CBS All Access (which is a paid-for service) would still have to watch ads, though there 'may' be a higher tier of subscription without ads. Which just sucks really, if you pay a subscription you really shouldn't have to watch ads too. Glad I'll get to see it on Netflix.

Yep. It'll be $10 a month to be ad-free.

Every other article mentioning Netflix has said that it will not be available to US subscribers. This one is non-specific.

DSC has, so far, almost been like a dream come true.

It's a new Trek show helmed by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal is one of my favourite shows of all-time) and written by Nicholas Meyer (The Wrath of Khan and The Undiscovered Country, what else is there to say?).

As well as that, it'll be 13 episodes per season, more serialized and, in my country, it's a Netflix Original.

I feel your pain, Americans/Canadians, but for me? What more is there to like?

Does this map accurately reflect China now?
Will China get episodes when the rest of the world now does?
"it's understood that the service soon will make some Netflix originals available via iQiyi day-and-date with the rest of the world."

It is good news for any netflix user outside the US and Canada. This has been known for a while, and while it does not help me, I am glad it helps others.

Ditto. I was hoping this would change for the US because as much as I'm looking forward to it I don't like having to add another subscription service for one show.

Well, I have it already, as I do not have cable and the wife wanted to watch NCIS. Really, its ok, but there are more ads than there should be for a service I am paying for.

Hulu gives the option of paying a few dollars more a month to have an ad-less experience. Does CBS at least offer that?

IIRC they do, we have not done it. I think its like 10 bucks or so. I don't see the ads as being a deal breaker, but there are about 5or six or them.

That and "Blue Bloods" and I'm in the same boat :)

If I recall correctly, as I'm not currently subscribed but it's 6 for ads, 10 for no ads.
