WB's Justice League 2017 movie pre-discussion thread

The Batgirl film is definitely happening, as it was confirmed by multiple entertainment news organizations.

These days, that doesn't really mean anything, since any rumor that appears on one site will get echoed by a dozen others before the day is out. The question is, are all those news organizations attributing the same single source, or are they doing their own independent reporting?

It would be one thing if this news had appeared on multiple sites like IGN, ScreenRant, io9, etc. but not on any of the "major Hollywood Trade" sites (Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and Deadline) and on sites like Entertainment Weekly (which is what I classify as a "secondary Hollywood Trade"), all of which rarely post information that they have not themselves personally verified as being factual, so the fact that all four of those organizations posted this news pretty much guarantees its veracity.

Since Superman is absent from the Justice League promos, Zack Snyder recently posted the first ever picture of Henry Cavill as Superman to make up for it:

That is pretty cool. I'm assuming that was a new suit using the design from the Christopher Reeves movies and not one of his actual suits?

I read it was a replica, though I don't know how new it was. Since it was an early test, I assume they just found an existing replica costume somewhere and stuck him in it to see how convincing he looked.

In the past this photo of the Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill screen tests for J.J. Abram's Superman Flyby had been leaked/released. The particular movie was ultimately canceled but of course both men got the chance to portray Superman.

Well the likely fake rumor about four Batman-related movies in one year has been debunked. Shocking.

Zack Snyder has stepped away from post-production of Justice League due to the death of his daughter. Joss Whedon will supervise any remaining re-shoots and the rest of post-production.
