I guess there was always going to be a similar aesthetic with the reboot so as not to confuse new fans. I'm still surprised it's not set in the JJverse, to be honest.

Yeah, it was my very first thought, sadly. I'm so used to seeing her with curly hair and all of a sudden it's straight... "black hair" sadly has been an issue in media in the past.
