While it's not my favorite, I will second at least that it's a fine pick. That would be my favorite track inside the 2009 film proper. However, myself, I was swept away by the TOS-theme "reprise" with nuTrek motifs in the end credits.

I remember seeing that in the cinema for the first time and how genuinely exciting it was. My favourite movie credits sequence ever, for the design but mostly for the score. I had that same moment again at the end of Beyond. I adore the new Trek theme and my personal favourite versions framed STB

All time Trek favourite - clichéd choice, but the ST:FC theme. It is hopeful, beautiful, exciting and 'Star Treky' all in one. It is perfect for what I see as the wonderfully portrayed first meeting between human and alien. I totally agreed with Picard - I envied Lily and the world she got to live in. And the music was a huge part of that film's ability to sell the historical importance of what is really quite a simple moment.
 
Completely agreed on the FC main theme, one of my favorites.

Another timeless favorite is TMP's The Enterprise.

I really like the GEN soundtrack, I never see it getting a lot of love around these parts (it's usually criticized as bland).

This is one of my favorite Ron Jones's pieces from "Who Watches the Watchers." It's full of energy. Exactly the kind of music that draws to attention to itself and enhances the action on screen.

James Horner's work for Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan is another favorite. "The Genesis Count Down" stands out.

From the TV shows I'm a huge fan of Ron Jones's work on early TNG. "Up The Long Ladder" is one of his best scores. Very eerie.

I also like "V'Ger Flyover," too, for its use of an imposing variation of the Ilia theme/overture as a theme for the colossal object itself.

Agreed, the music in The Inner Light is wonderful. I also like the music from Voyager's Blink of an Eye.
 
I remember years back someone actually edited "Jumping the Ravine" over Enterprise's opening credits sequence and it worked so perfectly.
 
I really like the Tos music I have a couple of Cds that has all some great music I really like City on the edge of forever.. Tng The Best of both worlds .I have several TOS movie soundtracks ,And the cds of J.J. Abrams I really like the music from all 3 movies. Tng First Contact is one of my favorotes and of course The Wrath of Khan..
 
I caught the end of TNG "The Wounded" on BBCA last night. I've always really liked the way the score reprises "The Minstrel Boy," after O'Brien and Maxwell have sung the song and Maxwell realizes he won't win this one. Some melody snuck through on the music track. ;)

I don't care for the Abramstrek movies so I have no opinion about their soundtracks.

And the TV scores tend to blend into the background and/or gets used multiple times in different episodes so I find it hard to identify them. But I do like main title scores - TNG since they stole it from TMP; DS9 is great, especially the later seasons; even VOY is quite good; but I really don't like ENT's "Faith of the Heart".
