This might be the arc this Season.
The Doctor wasn't supposed to go off world.
He figured he could be back before he left.
Now he can't but he has too.
Something keeps him away from that vault, and they have to figure out who?
That would be something. But I don't know how they'd get Nardole back. (No lip, I like Nardole.)

The important part: that's how he wants to be called. He wants to be called Matt. If he wanted to be called Matthew then that's what he would ask to be called.
Although, curiously enough Matt Smith was listed as "Matthew Smith" in the credits for Terminator Genisys.

The actor who plays James Trivette in Walker, Texas Ranger is the same person who was Conrad McMaster on Matlock. Anytime you see an actor with the same name it is the same person. The Screen Actors Guild doesn't allow two actors to use the same name, even if it is their real name. If you became an actor and there was already a James Calverson registered with SAG, you would have to change your name professionally. This is why you sometimes see what seems to be pretentious use of initials or hyphenated names, or names spelled in an odd manner. These are ways around the Guild restriction.

He's been guarding the vault for 50 years, and maybe possibly, there have been no problems... So, maybe there never will ever be any sort of vault related calamity.

Smile was a great nod to classic Hartnell Style Doctor who. A human colony, robots on the rampage. Bill was perfectly a companion. Had great visuals, excellent story! It felt like a modern Hartnell story, all the way to the robot human negotiations. Perfectly awesome. A great sci-fi episode. Every bit as worthy to that of a classic Twilight zone, outer limits, and a classic Hartnell serial. Fun! I watched it 3 times now. Still gets better. Not Sure about the latest episode, but I'll comment after watching it on DVR when I get home from work today.

How many past episodes did they reference? So far I've thought of The Daleks, The Robots of Death, The Happiness Patrol, The End of the World and Gridlock. The general feel may also have been a homage to Nineteen Eighty-Four.

I thought they looked a bit like the so-called Handbots.

Half expecting "This is a kindness."
