The X-Files renewed for season 11

Is there an injoke with the space monkeys, or do just like space monkeys?

I'm surprised at all the negative comments. I enjoyed season 10, and I didn't care much for the original series-- I only caught random episodes. I liked the feeling of a couple of older adventurers having to get back into the game, and I found both of the leads far more appealing than they were in their younger days. I'm kind of looking forward to more episodes.
I'm not to be honest. Given what was put out. Half of the episodes were ok enough. The other half were forgettable (the CC ones).

I liked the older series much more. But YMMV, going by what you said.

The older series had better writing, directing and what not. That's what brought me in, any flaws aside. What happened this time around was beyond underwhelming. I was hoping for CC to step up and instead got word salad.

Besides being busy with Scorpion, Robert Patrick said he likes to look ahead instead of revisiting past roles.

Hey, I just want another scene as trippy as that one with Mulder high on shrooms.
I rather not. That was one episode that I hated. So I think it's a LOVE it or HATE it kind of episode for what it's worth.

I'll take it. Out of ten episodes, at least one or two of them have to be good. Were-Monster was worth suffering through the rest of them

No. Nothing is worth that suffering. My sister was the biggest fan and she's like "I could watch more than the first two". I've seen 5 of 6.

The episodes are horrible, but that's not my main issue. Season 10 made it seem like nothing has happened in the last 15 years.

Im almost finished with season 6 of the old series. So far so good. Even though i havent seen season 10, i can just speculate. So heres my theory on it all..

Season 10 was just a 6 episode trial run to test the waters. Evem though effort im sure was put into it, fox only ordered a short 6 episode event series. So everyone involved in the old series had to get back in the game..behind the scenes and on camera.

Ive heard from friends i know that half of season 10 was good, the other half was blah. But mow since fox ordered a 10 episode series 11, everyone is like "ok we back in the game. We have to go all in now and give it our all." So with that, this new season should make up for everything lacking in the previous season.

I think Robert is open to making a cameo. I think the only reason he wasn't able to last season is because of his full time work schedule on Scorpion.

Nah he seemed pretty adamant about it. It's good to see that he seems to be open to it this time though.

They revealed some new information about TXF Season 11 at the TCAs:
Once again we will be getting two mythology episodes as the premiere and the finale.
The premiere will pick up where last season's finale left off and will deal with William.
We will see The Cigarette Smoking Man, a "tip to The Lone Gunmen" and "other characters from the previous mythology will be reprised".
Since they said the writing staff was all men, they've now added two women writers, and announced two women directors.

The series had run its course a long time ago. At this point, if the show would just stick to monster of the week stories, it might be watchable.

That's cool. I think I actually liked them when they appeared last season.
