Random LOLs and observations about Trek serieses

By the way, Romanian is a Romance language and derives from Vulgar Latin as do French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Romansh, and so on. The clue is in the name...
Isn't Romansh a language that is spoke in Switzerland as well as German, French, and Italian? I'm guessing what is spoken where depends on what area of Switzerland, right?

I was just watching Heart of Stone, and noticed a slight logical discrepancy I've never noticed before.

If Unknown Sample translates to Odo Ital, and he was named by a Bajoran, why isn't his name Ital?

Regarding the planet name, according to the IAU the official name of Earth is actually just "Earth". I believe this only applies to English language usage though. Other official names are "Moon", "Sun", "Solar System", and "The Galaxy" (not Milky Way!).

You mean our star isn't Blito and our planet Bilto-P3?

I'd better start watching that Leah Remini show. ;)

But isn't the word galaxy derived from the same Latin word for milk?
No idea, but it really doesn't matter here since "The Galaxy" is the official English language name, regardless of the etymology of the word.

Are there any non-human Trek characters who aren't on a first name basis with their home planet's head of state? I guess the Voyager cast.

Is it just me that kind of prefers to watch Star Trek serieses on TV rather than streaming or DVD? Yeah, there are commercials and such, but I also know that there are other people watching the same show at the same time creating a "shared experience" of sorts even if everyone is elsewhere.

Another thing about that clip is that is it is from Season 5, Season 5 was the only season to add streamers when the title 'Star Trek' flashed on screen. They dropped it (I wonder why? to Superman'ish ?) in season 6 and 7 making the sequence identical (baring changes in character names) to Seasons 3 and 4.

Actually, there is one difference in season 7's title sequence. The first letter of everyone's first and last name are larger than the rest of the letters in their names.

Just a thought. We know 24th century Federation starships generate an unimaginable amount of power. Likewise, they're likely countless times much more energy efficient than anything we have today.

Should I ever board the Enterprise or Voyager with a completely drained cell phone, phone should wirelessly charge to full in no time thanks to the ambient energy simply streaming through the ship, and it would be treated as something mundane. Disney researchers already have something similar.

Maybe the reason they have to generate so much power is that warp coils are ridiculously inefficient, but it's the only way they have to achieve warp speed..
