STC Ep. 9: ???.... (Coming this June)

Figured I'd go ahead and get this going while we're still coming down from Episode 8. Only one more standalone episode between now and the two-part series finale - let the speculation begin!

I'm curious if this episode will start laying out more of the pieces for the series finale, or if it'll be a standalone story. Whichever it ends up being, I'd also love for it to be a completely original story, and not a follow-up. After looking at the released episodes, STC has done half originals, half follow-ups. If these last few can be wholly original, that would be fantastic.

If Ep. 9 is coming in June does it mean we might see the remaining episodes released about every two months?

It's kind of unfortunate that they're doing a two part finale. I guess part one and part two can be diverse but more likely a continuation. One bright spot, I understand that they will be using the new planet set in the finale. If part one or part two is set on Vulcan?? One can only hope!

Maybe a Carol Marcus story I know NV did one, but ya never know....

Dammit. I tried to watch that Q&A video again before I started the thread to make sure I had the date right, but the thing kept stuttering and hanging... D'OH!!! :brickwall: Admin, can you please correct it to July?

Do you think that the stories in the final episodes will be depressing? Vic has said that they will explain why Kirk gave up the Enterprise to take a desk job? Why Spock decided to go back to Vulcan to purge all remaining emotion? And why McCoy quit Starfleet, moved home and grew a beard? I agree with Vic that “that’s one hell of a story”, but seeing them split up and go their own separate ways, will it be a bittersweet ending?

And I find it hard to believe thats a story they would have written back in the day.

That may be, but that's always been Vic's aim with STC. I've made peace with the dichotomy between Vic's ambition for STC to be just like the real thing and their final product that's connecting the path between Turnabout Intruder and TMP. I'm eager to see what they do with the last 3 episodes, and hopefully Robert J. Sawyer's script for the finale is an effective, well-hewn tale.
