Sonequa Martin-Green is Your DSC Star

You don't know what masculinity and femininity are, do you? Here's a hint: they're not genders.

I know! It's like watching a snake bite its own tail.

And since when did we have to hold you to mod standards in here? Have you been our secret tyrannical overlord this entire time?:wah:

It seems every thread is hi-jacked or turned into a soapbox for Possum to stand on. Imagine, expecting to discuss STAR TREK topics and not constant social pet topics.

It's almost like posters expect other posters to understand the meanings of basic words.

Tell you what: if you're being 'trolled,' why don't you report it and see how things turn out? Please.

I wish I knew about that one when I was at school.

'Reason for Appeal on Assessment Mark: ALL THESE X's NEXT TO MY ANSWERS ARE OPPRESSING ME!!!':scream:

Gender-Blender Name and Tomboyish Name are long standing movie/ TV Tropes.

Bryan Fuller has used them in almost all of his shows which have female protagonists with male names/nicknames:

Dead Like Me has a girl named George (Georgia), and her sister, Reggie (Regina). Maybe their parents had a thing for feminine names with masculine short forms?

In Pushing Daisies, leading lady Charlotte Charles is called Chuck (which is a derivative to Charles meaning "man"...), which is this and a Punny Name put together.

Wonderfalls has a female main character named Jaye.

Hannibal has Freddie (short for Fredericka) Lounds, who is a Gender Flip of a character from the the source material with the same name.

So there's really nothing to see here. Move along, move along.

Exactly. I was expecting this given Fuller's track record.

He's a white male, he can never be questioned or corrected. Otherwise his feelings get hurt.

The autocorrect on the white man's iPhone must drive them insane.

*phone tries to autocorrect the word 'autocorrect.''

On second thought, autocorrect-rage may be universal

Still think he should have gone all out, and left 'Alana' as 'Alan.'

Not even make it an abbreviation like Freddie's, Just leave it be.
