Sonequa Martin-Green is Your DSC Star

I remember reading some rumors about how profanity is not allowed in legal personal names. I've never been able to verify it, though.

Does anyone want to give it a try? :p
My middle name is Richard, so I'm kind of a Dick.

I don't care about the name.

The raw and gritty part of the interview is yawn inducing. They're buzz words that have become so commonplace that they convey no meaning whatsoever.

I was against Trek becoming NuBSG back when that was a thing and I still am. Fuller talked about Trek's optimism in the past but now that he's no longer involved the new show runners many have thrown it out the window. It won't stop me from watching the pilot. I'll make the decision about whether or not to continue watching then.

As for index and ring fingers, people who were born male generally have longer ring fingers than their index fingers, which is the case with Sonequa Martin-Green. Combined with the typically male-given name Michael, it cannot, in good conscience, be attributed to a mere "gimmick". The proper term is hidden agenda.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that, regardless of what character she's playing, Sonequa Martin-Green probably wasn't cast in Star Trek because her ring fingers are a millimeter longer than her index fingers.

They need her to wear an exact pair of gloves, any compromise is seen as failure. That's why it's taking so long to make the show.

Than what?

DS9 was slightly more sophisticated than a 1960s TV show, which was not remarkable for a show made in the 90s. Fans compared it only to TNG, which replicated 1960s TV, and so thought it somehow groundbreaking.

If DSC is as mannered, formal and squeaky-clean as the previous shows it's going to be laughed at for taking itself seriously.

Perhaps grittier and darker in tone, at least. "I can... live with it"... But point taken. Can't wait for more news about DSC!

That's why it took so long to make The People v. O.J. Simpson. They finally just had to cast Cuba Gooding because O.J. was still trying on those gloves.

It's a real Cinderella story.
It goes much deeper. It's why Fuller left the show. He was buying the shoes first and hiring the actors who could fit into them. CBS questioned him about it, he started laughing for what was described as "far too long than what is considered socially acceptable". The execs slowly backed away and pressured him into leaving using a man who had experience training bears.

There are countries which legally dictate what you can name a child? Oy. That kind of stinks.

I think it is actually wise. Calling your child for example like a cardinal direction, North West, is kind of ridiculous and doesn't do the child any favours. Royal Reign is equally stupid. Or what about this:

The Campbells, who have denied they are neo-Nazis, made headlines in January 2009 when a supermarket refused to decorate a birthday cake for their son Adolf Hitler, now five.
Adolf, and siblings JoyceLynn Aryan Nation, four, and three-year-old Honszlynn Hinler Campbell - believed to be a reference to Nazi leader Heinrich Himmler - were also taken into care shortly afterwards and remain in foster care.

Why should names like these be allowed? Children shouldn't suffer under their names.
