Does that mean we'd call the period after it the Post-Post-Crisis?

Nah, let's call it the New 42. So we can get sued by DC AND by whoever published The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!

Not on a cover, but on the book spine. I mean, that's something too, right?

Huh, not a character I would have expected to see but it's still nice to see her get some attention.

The spine is part of the cover. It's just not the front cover.

Really? I mean, if you say it it is most likely correct, but that just seems weird to me. Maybe it is only because I associate the word "cover" with "front"... Anyway, thanks for clearing that up.

Well, it's literally the thing that covers the pages inside, a single sheet of card (or cloth and heavier cardboard for a hardcover) that wraps around the front, spine, and back. Although in practice, people just say "front cover," "back cover," and "spine," so I can see how one could think of the spine and the cover as separate things.

All this time, I've been judging books by their spines and thinking I found a loophole.

    Curses.

When you combine all three German Prey covers you get this:

It doesn't quite fit, especially with the Enterprise-E's saucer and Kahless (at least I think that's Kahless), but the star in the foreground of book one extends to book two and the background nebulae all somewhat fit.

Is that a rough draft? Maybe they'll fix Kahless and the E2 in later version.
