I finally found what I was thinking of: New Nintendo 3DS for $100. It was a Black Friday sale, so I guess not a normal price.

Still too early to be sure and I've not seen my other gaming sources pick it up but still interesting theory. I don't understand why Nintendo didn't put something soft on the inside of the case to stop the Dock damaging the switch handheld device. Also if true, HOW THE HELL did Nintendo not catch this during the development testing stage.

I have an unopened Switch and Zelda but I'm thinking of returning them in exchange for a Wii U copy. Maybe use the savings for a pro controller. From what I've read the Wii Zelda holds its own against the Switch and there seems to be a lot of Switch complaints. For those that actually own/used one of these what's your opinion, are you happy with your purchase?
I'm enjoying mine, thus far. I've docked/undocked the system multiple times carefully, so I've not had any issues with scratching the screen. The Joy-Cons connected to the tablet are okay, but on the Joy-Con grip, my hands are too massive to play comfortably. I picked up a Switch Pro Controller tonight and have it charging, but from what I can tell it feels just like an Xbox One controller, which is fine by me 
1) Put the Switch on eBay and you'll easily make at least a 50 percent profit.
2) I swung by my sister-in-law's house today and the Switch version of Zelda chugs really badly in the dock mode. No reason to not get the Wii U version, they're the same game.
3) Never buy Rev A Nintendo hardware, there hasn't been an issue-free launch since the GameCube. Wait six months for them to acknowledge that they screwed up / the contract manufacturer had a wolf invasion / everyone got Stalfos-AIDS, and stuff's getting fixed.
Never buy version A of any hardware
I'm happy with my purchase. I love portable systems and almost the entirety of my gaming diet consists of Nintendo games and Indie games, so the Switch is my dream system. It's Nintendo's take on the Vita, but with a far better execution. I also haven't experienced any hardware problems so far, so no complaints there.
I suppose my question for you is if you return the Switch now, are you just going to go back out in six months and buy it again? If so you might as well save some time and keep it,
I'm taking Timby's advice and trying EBay, I had my sister throw it up, I haven't done it myself yet, but she put it at 3 days, I think it only needs one from the looks of things. Worse come to worse I can just get my money back at the store.
If I decide to get it down the road I'm not out anything and I can play Zelda in the meantime on the Wii U which is what I'm really interested in playing at the moment. After reading that it's on pretty equal footing I'm OK with that, I was afraid it was going to be really inferior to the Switch. The only other thing that grabbed me right away is that Mario game but that's a ways down the road. Maybe by the time I'm ready there'll be a bundle, Black Friday, or the kinks will be worked out more.

After watching that, I'm more than convinced that I made the right choice by picking up Breath of the Wild for the Wii U and waiting a while longer for the Switch.
I've never cared about frame rates or hardware specs or anything--I just like to waste a few hours playing games. But I've been bouncing back and forth between Zelda and Horizon Zero Dawn this week, and . . . wow: It's like stepping back and forth in time 10 years.

Having watched the videos I don't see what the big deal with the frame rates are, they all look fine to me.

Generally, no. It's stored on the actual game card. But if your DS/3DS goes kaput, as long as the card is intact you're fine.
Sounds like Nintendo's putting your save data onto the Switch's internal memory from which it is never allowed to be retrieved or migrated. That's... dumb. At a minimum, they should supplement it with cloud saves or something. Does Nintendo live in a world where hardware never fails?!
Shouldn't be a problem now.
