Original classic foe returning to series 10!! SPOILERS

So is this basically going to feature all the Cybermen from all the eras? Kind of like how we got all the Daleks in Asylum of the Daleks and The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar? If so, I hope they include the cyber-attitude for the Earthshock Cybermen. "Excellent!"

Hospital patients are being converted into Cybermen

Twelve- The Doctor will definitely see you NOW!

So would we call this "Cyber Monday"?

Wow, that picture with the converted patients is creepy (in a good way). I do wish we were just getting the old Cybermen, but I'm ok with the new ones (but I wish we had some of the more common Classic who design Cyberman too, if they're going with multiple designs).

Wait till you guys see the new Paradigm Cybermen!

Personally, I loved the design of the New Paradigm Daleks. They looked really cool, and were a great break from the standard bronze Daleks we'd been getting in nuWho. I wish they'd show up more often (I think they've only shown up in the Series 9 opener, and maybe the Dalek Asylum in Series 7, since they first appeared).

I liked the design of the Paradigm Daleks, but Victory of the Daleks was such a terrible episode that they left a bad taste in my mouth.

I always liked Victory of the Daleks. I mean, its far from my favorite Dalek episode, but I never had any real problems with it.

Actually, the New Paradigm were the one Dalek design left out of the season 9 premiere story. The only appearances of the New Paradigm were Victory of the Daleks, The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang, The Wedding of River Song, Asylum of the Daleks.

It was fascinating to me that even as soon as The Pandorica Opens they were clearing shooting them in a way to minimise their ridiculous proportions.

I've often wondered if the people building them just got a decimal point in the wrong place on the plans.

Pretty much - I saw a thing somewhere a few years back that pointed out a discrepancy between the design chematics and the final props, showing that there had been some sort of error or misreading of the plans when they were built. can't find it now.

Oh, i guess since they had a red Dalek, I kind of assumed they had New Paradigm ones. Well, that sucks. Its weird that they didn't have them since they even had a special weapons Dalek.

Back to the Cybermen...

I guess there's some timey-wimey stuff at play here. Unto this episode the Cybermen we've seen are usually exclusively one group. They evolve a little bit each time we see them, but for the most part they've been moving forward with them, or at least sideways and then forward again. If not a prequel, perhaps something involving the present-day Cybermen heading back to Mondas to round up some fresh blood? These latex-headed hospital dwellers seem hooked up to some rather futuristic equipment.

And I've only just realized between these pics, the ones with Polly, and the new novel covers that Capaldi's Doctor will permanently lose his cufflinks at some point this season. The first trailers show regular sleeves, but without warning it looks like he'll switch things up by leaving something out. :)
