Nintendo NX / Switch Discussion

They're at least trying to stagger their big releases as not to create droughts like the did with the WiiU. Now granted if you don't like what's coming out, it's probably still fair that you'd be disappointed in their lineup. As for me, I have plenty of games to look forward to, in fact what I know I'll be getting for sure:

-Breath of the Wild: Will easily last me a long time, long enough to pick up...
-Mario Kart 8 DLX: A port sure, but I never picked up the original, so this game is new for me.
-Splatoon 2: Again, I realize this game probably isn't too different from the first one, but I never played the first one, so new for me as well.
-Mario Odyssey: (Assuming it's not delayed).

4 solid titles in my eyes, and that doesn't even count other titles like Bomberman R which I might pick up, or even 1,2 Switch so I can play it with my girlfriend.

I had my WiiU for about 3 years now, and I only have 10 games for it, and they're all first party games. So I'm not really as demanding for games as some people are.

Mario Odyssey
once Odyssey releases, the Switch will become a viable purchase for me personally

I'm not going to buy a Switch purely as a Zelda machine, which it would be given the launch lineup

Those are games that were released on the Phillips CD-I. They weren't made by Nintendo and have a reputation for being bad. They made a third game too (well, really the first of the three), called "Link: The Faces of Evil" which was also just as bad.

It's not that any games with Zelda as the main would be inherently bad, it's just that the only two times that was done resulted in horrible games.

The lineup is pretty good for a launch year, but it's still a launch year. It's going to take until 2018 or 2019 for the Switch to shine. With that said there's still enough coming to the Switch this year to get me to bite.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Mario Odyssey
Puyo Puyo Tetris
Super Bomberman R

And a bunch of Indies that I love the idea of playing on a portable system.

Definitely. Planning on possibly getting BOTW for the Wii U, but it still leaves me with some good games to get on the Switch.

Looking forward to Yooka-Laylee, Sonic Mania, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dragon Quest 10 and 11.

I saw that. Too bad he can't get any games yet, so he's stuck with a paperweight for two weeks until he can get something to actually play on it.

And I thought waiting for the Switch to hit stores was painful. Having it sitting on your coffee table unable to be used for two weeks is torture.

This guy somehow got it two weeks before the release date.

No company has ever released games prior to the release of the console.
