The New Mutants -- news, rumors, opix, etc;

Based on the writers and director it definitely sounds like their really going for a teen drama feel with this one, which does sound appropriate.

I didn't know Hollywood Stock Exchange was still going. I use to play with that a long, long time ago.

Sweet!

I guess if you're making a New Mutants movie with no guarantee that there will ever be another, then Demon Bear is the story to tackle.

At least it's better than waiting until the third movie and botching it, like the X-Men movies did with Dark Phoenix.

I feel like it would work better as a second movie, to be honest. There's so much legwork getting the kids together and establishing chemistry that Demon Bear builds off of. But it's an awesome story, so I wouldn't be horribly upset if they made it.

Hopefully it really is true, she's been one of the best parts of GoT and I would love to see her in something like this.

Interesting casting choice. I don't watch GoT, but I liked her on Doctor Who. I wish they were going with a scottish actress because Wolfsbane is Scottish and I always thought that was an interesting part of the character (plus we rarely, if ever, get Scottish superheroes). Besides that, if she does get the role I'm sure she'll be fine.

So, the rumor that I started this thread with, that Maisie Williams would be playing Wolfsbane that wound up being de-bunked, is now being... re-bunked(?), but notably not confirmed, by none other than the movie's director, Josh Boone.

"Right! This calls for immediate discussion!"

;)

I didn't care one way or the other about this movie until now. Maisie Williams is enough to make me give it a chance. Anya Taylor-Joy is an added bonus because of Split.

I saw that news this afternoon and I thought to myself "haven't we known those 2 were going to star in it for months now?"

I guess it's good it's official though.

A young Maisie would have made a great Molly Powers from Runaways. Maisie is too old for the role (like I'm sure most of the actors will be), not a redhead or Scottish. But Maisie is a terrific actress (deservedly an Emmy nominee) and I think she could be great in the role.

It's nice to finally get official confirmation of Maisie Williams and Ana Taylor-Joy's casting.
