WOW! That set! After the short-film you should save it! Perhaps another film will need it down the line! (Or at the very least provide the blueprints for it!) :D

A couple of really good videos about Chance Encounter have been posted on YouTube today.

The first is a TrekZone Spotlight interview which is a part of a new series of interviews titled, 'fan films done right'. They discuss a non-spoiler synopsis of Chance Encounter and the fan film guidelines.

Thanks for this Philip - very few fan films have ventured into this era, one I grew up with (TV series TNG era, not the movie TNG era - I know a few think of them both are one and the same), so I'm really looking forward to it

thanks for the posting Philip, I've been so busy that I haven't logged in to the BBS for a LONG while.

BTW, Gary said that I'm about the first outside of the production to watch the film... it is very well put together.

Thank You for another great interview.

I think that I may have asked this question already on the YouTube comments but have you considered interviewing Eric Henry who is making the Star Trek fan film 'Pacific 201'? He would be perfect for your 'fan films done right' interview series.

I did see your comment, but I think for now FFDR should focus on what's out or about to release.

Suffers from the usual fan film problems. Poor sound mixing, poor editing and dodgy acting. Plus the story just didn't suit the setting. It felt like a whimsical and sappy take on love written by a twenty-something and I was wondering where the science fiction element was beyond the rather obvious "twist".

Now, having said that, I must say that I really, really liked the effort that has been put in to make it feel part of the early Berman era Trek, from the music, to the costumes, credits and more thoughtful theme as too many fan films for me really on starship battle porn.
