Star Trek: CAPTAIN PIKE

Are they still making this film, or what?

They have now confirmed that the film will still be happening:

Any movement on this one?
On the 8th December they announced on Facebook that they would be posting a scene from "Captain Pike" with Walter Koenig and Linda Park within one week. They did not release the scene and have been silent ever since. A lot of people who funded their Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns aren't very happy about this.

There isn't. The production was ill prepared to start with and lacked necessary funds, and then when the guidelines were put out this summer it kind of sank them.
I was really hoping that they were far enough along with their production that they could have released it by now, considering that the guidelines are not meant to be retroactive. But I fear that to much time has now passed for them to get away with releasing the film. The same also goes for First Frontier, although unlike Captain Pike they did not use donor money to fund their production.

Well, from what Mr. Van Critters said regarding that, and how it would apply to them - they would have had to have the film 'in the can' and be well into the post production (IE editing, audio mixing, etc.) and be near release. If they were not in post production; they'd be subject to the guidelines - and even so, after that one episode; they would then be subject to the guidelines anyway.

Further with ST: Discovery now in production, and targeting the same Star Trek era as their production, they may have decided it's just not worth the risk at this point and called it.

Still with 60K plus raised it seems they would communicate something with their supporters.......

They are not the only ones to go "dark" I think the worst thing for everyone is that Axanar "settled" instead of being destroyed. Now that they have "agreed" to follow the guidelines that leaves the rest of the productions probably wondering about their half completed or fully completed projects.

I think the best thing those productions can do is to use the money for the purpose they advertised. It was Peters' misuse of the funds to enrich himself on the Star Trek property, instead of making the film, that that got him in trouble.

Yes but as late as 8 December they were teasing a scene to be posted "later this week".........that would have been between 9-16 December......Settlement didn't happen till about 19 Jan.......so I don't understand why they haven't said ANYTHING since.

I fully expect they will. But that will not stop AP from pointing out every time they don't comply with the guidelines. We will never see an Axanar film in any version. He will continue to be a thorn in the entire community.

Well, the last time they posted to their Twitter account was 12/2/2015 (yes, that's 2015) and the last post on their Facebook was 11/19/2015 - so where's the post from December 2016 teasing a scene?
