Before MoS, this redesign floated around the web:

Now, the collar and red sleeve trimming are hideous, and the boots are no improvement, either, but the red pattern around the waist was a nice idea, I think, and I'd like to see this rather than no trunks.

Personally, I'd like them to do an update/refinement of this costume:

Though I'd probably nix the loose outer gloves (so the gloves boots are both red) and give it a more traditional neckline.

I love the yellow oval on Batman's suit. I wish DC would bring it back. I'm not a big fan of the yellow-outlined Bat symbol. It looks kinda dumb to me. :)

That looks like Tom Grummett artwork to me, but I don't remember that issue of Superboy.

The costume looks like the classic 90s costume with a cape. I like it.

The oddball Kon-El costume I really liked was the Legionnaire-style costume -- red down the sides, blue in the center -- that Alex Ross debuted in Kingdom Come in a one panel cameo, which was eventually worn by Kon-El when he was stuck in the 31st-century.

Great to see that they're still rejecting the red Speedo. :techman:

I'm sure that one day some artist will bring it back for a few issues and a certain segment of fandom will swoon.

    If you mean this one:

then I agree. Personally, I'd accessorize them with black boots and black close-fitting mid-length gloves but that's just my personal choice. Red boots and his red short gloves would also work.

While I'm not a huge fan of the 'Red Speedo' look anyway, I don't mind it for the original Superman. My main dislike of that look is what it symbolises - the fact that after c 80 years, and at least four descrete options to 'move/expand on' the character to truely update it for the times (Superman Jr in the 70s, Kon-El in the 90s and early 00s, Chris Kent in the late 00s) the most 'daring' they've managed to do is give him a pre-teen sidekick in Jon Kent (something that Batman managed over 75 years ago).

It's from the "Sins of Youth" storyline that spun out of Young Justice. I'm not sure, off-hand, which issue, it's either the event itself or the Superman Jr./Superboy Sr. one-shot.

You're welcome to it - just don't make Supes wear it. Looks terrible.

Did Ferro Boy just get outed?

(Research says that the ONLY gay legioneers are Shrinking Violet and Lightning lass (who are sorta together is you squint and assume a lot, since the writers are being sneaky and hope that the editor haven't noticed.) and Element lad who is bisexual, that was swept away with a turn of the century reboot.)

DC raises the price for the monthly Rebirth titles to $ 3.99, starting in April.

This affects titles like "Batgirl", "Batgirl & the Birds of Prey", "Batman Beyond", "Batwoman", "Blue Beetle", "Cyborg" (wait, wasn't that supposed to be twice-monthly?), "The Hellblazer", "New Super-Man", "Red Hood & the Outlaws", "Supergirl", "Super Sons", "Superwoman", "Teen Titans", "Titans" and "Trinity". The print copies will include a code for free digital download, though.

    The twice-monthly titles remain at $ 2.99.

I expect all but Batwoman, Titans and maybe Supersons to be cancelled within the year after the increase. I know I will be dropping the majority of these. I will miss Hellblazer and Cyborg the most.

Emerald Empress is in Justice League vs. Suicide Squad.

There's some sort of 31st century Op dancing through the pages of DC's books.

The editor's note told me to check out Supergirl next month.

I thought most new release comics were already $3.99. EDIT: I just checked Comixology, and most of the other publishers new releases are $3.99, so DC is just going up to what seems to be the industry standard. :END EDIT
As for Superman's red trunks, I'm glad they got rid of them, but at the same time I do think the suit needs more color to break up the blue.

Post-Rebirth DC dropped moast of its titles to $2.99.

I guess no perk for those of us who already buy their comics digitally via Comixology or such.

Yeah, I'm curious to see what's up with Emerald Empress/the legionaire we saw in Rebirth #1 that I won't spoil. But, the Supergirl book is just a bad ripoff of the TV show, so I'll just read about any relevant things that happen instead of checking out the book.

The sales are a pretty big perk, outside of the few titles I follow regularly I mostly just wait to pick up the rest when they're on big discounts.

Since Batwoman is the only one of the monthlies I intend to get regularly the price hike won't have a big impact on me, but if someone followed 4 (or more) of these, you basically now only get 3 for the same price, which has to sting a little even if it's in line with what others charge for monthlies.
