OK, I'll do that!

Since there's been nothing new to talk about concerning STIV since post 1, page 1 the fact that it made it to page 8 before derailing is pretty impressive.

Carol Marcus said:It's quite clever actually. This fuel container's been removed from the torpedo and retrofitted to hide this cryo tube.
Admiral Marcus said:He put those people in those torpedoes. And I simpIy didn't want to burden you with knowing what was inside of them.

Disagree, look at what Disney has done with Marvel, SW, Pixar... the sausage analogy quickly becomes rather obsolete...Yeah, if one has a bottomless appetite for sausage.
So it's not just me, then...That has section 31 op written all over it.
Pretty much the perfect retconning. So it's not just me, then...
If Paramount understood how to handle Star Trek, this sort of thing would already be in the works.I would like to see a stand alone movie of Star Trek .A Star Trek: Birth of the Federation (with new cast). There are many unfilled gaps in the Star Trek universe that would make a good movie.
Among other things. I don't think the Kelvin films would be as resented in some cases if there was more Trek being produced. If Paramount understood how to handle Star Trek, this sort of thing would already be in the works.
The Kelvin films are kind of tasked with blending the high-mindedness of TV Trek with the forcefulness of movie Trek. So far l think they've done okay handling that (though others would disagree, I know).Among other things. I do as well. I think that there is so much squabbling over rights that a lot of money is being lost. Also there seems to be an adverse attitude towards risk, which is frustrating to me as someone who wants to see more than the current output, as well as ways to introduce my (younger) children to Star Trek. The Kelvin films are kind of tasked with blending the high-mindedness of TV Trek with the forcefulness of movie Trek. I think you're right, though, and I wish Paramount and CBS would either patch in their differences or have the rights given to one or the other so we could stop squabbling over universes.
I think this is the big thing. Disney gets that Star Wars is something parents want to share with and pass down to their children.I do as well. But, that's me, and I've blathered on about this numerous times.

That's an easy realization to come to, when your only concern is selling product.
Or they realize that Star Trek just doesn't have the same cool factor and popularity as Star Wars does and that the kids in school are talking about Star Wars and not Star Trek. The kids that do want to talk about Star Trek are outcasts.I think this is the big thing. Disney gets that Star Wars is something parents want to share with and pass down to their children.
Many Star Trek fans feel the same way but CBS and Paramount don't seem to realize it.
I think that's not the problem though, I think part of the problem is that Paramount has tried to make Star Trek into something cool and more mainstream but in doing so has taken away some of it's magic.
