We also still need to see the formation of the Rebel Alliance.
Might add to the list of injures he has by the time we see him in Rogue One.
Very cool. I figured it was probably a matter of time before someone from Rogue One popped up on Rebels, and since he started on The Clone Wars, it does make sense it would be Saw. I wonder who will voice him, Forest Whitaker, Andrew Kishino or a third actor?
Windu killed Jango, not Kenobi. Was the light sabre Maul had as relic of his past supposed to be Kenobi's and in particular the one he killed Jango Fett with?
Saw seemed less busted up when we see him at the beginning of the film, so whoever plays him in Rebels would surely be playing it between that state and the wreck he is for the main action of Rogue One. (?)Most likely it'll be Kishino somewhat imitating Whitaker's performance as a sort of middle ground between what he was as a young man in TCW and the wreck we see him as in RO.

I'd be astonished if they got Whitaker to do it. I don't think he's ever done voice work so far as I'm aware of and cartoons are a little below his pay grade. He'd have to *really* want to do it and be willing to work for scale.
It has already formed. We're only seeing one cell of it in Rebels, they've mentioned the others.
From what I understand, what we are seeing is not quite the Rebel Alliance just yet. It is almost there. What were are seeing is Rebel cells starting to work together, but the formal Alliance to Restore the Republic hasn't yet been formed under Mon Mothma. It should be happening later this season or during the next season if they follow the timeline of about two years before Yavin. Though if they have a major victory over Thrawn, before the Rebel Alliance is officially formed, than the battle mentioned in the scroll of A New Hope (the one in Rogue One) would still be the first major victory for the Rebel Alliance, officially.
It's not just the physicality of it, his whole character and demeanour is changed. He's a lot more twitchy, bordering on paranoid. Certainly more introspective than when we saw him last and Whitaker seems to have effected some accent that I can't quite place, but it's different from Saw's TCW incarnation. So yeah, I think some of that would need to be taken on board to bridge the gap.
Wheezing: possibly. Accent: no, because that's not how that works.I wonder if the "accent" will be caused by some incident in the the Geonosis episodes.
Don't think so.Might have picked it up on Jedha.
Oh, certainly not. While his wheezing could be related to whatever happens to him on Geonosis, that wouldn't have changed his accent.contention is that I doubt Saw acquired his new accent by going to Geonosis.
Not quite what I meant. I don't think it's an accent in the movie. I think it's a side effect of the wheezing cause.Wheezing: possibly. Accent: no, because that's not how that works.
We're talking about an actual accent he's speaking with, not just the fact that he's clearly having trouble breathing. It's how he pronounces words, how he constructs sentences. His very choice of words. The pace and cadence of his speech. It's all entirely distinct from Andrew Kishino's performance, even taking into account the age and heath issues. Not quite what I meant.
