Memorable sound effects and incidental music

It struck me that not only are some of the visuals of Trek so good, but a lot of the audio is incredible too and sometimes I only need to look at a still of Trek to remember the sound that goes along with it. One example is if I think about or see a picture of the probe from Star Trek IV, I can already imagine I'm hearing its high pitched communication sound. Also, if I think of the The Motion Picture and the ship on alert, I can hear that pulsing alert sound.

Plus everyone knows the piece of music that goes along with this shot.

Any others that spring to mind, from any era?

Most of the recurring sound effects from TOS are very memorable, especially the ones made by the Enterprise herself: Warp speed, random button/switch sounds, transporter, sliding doors, the computer "WORKING", even the bridge's background noise. Classic stuff. :techman:

And of course the whale probe sound mentioned above.

I adore all of the bridge sound effects in TOS. They're amazing. Those sounds are even used to excellent atmospheric effect, like in this scene from Day of the Dove when Kirk realizes they're being manipulated to fight each other. Listen to the bridge sounds in the silent moments. It is so good. One of my all-time favorite scenes in Trek.

I've always liked that weird alert sound from TNG's "Cause and Effect" when the ship was going up and Picard was ordering to abandon ship. I don't recall that sound ever being used again. I guess when you hear that alarm it means you're pretty much fucked.

I also like the overall sound design from that episode with the Enterprise D humming while the other ship scrapes nacelles and the D's starts blowing.

I also like the sound of the exposed hull of the Enterprise D getting directly hit when sheilds go down in the climax battle of "Yesterday's Enterprise". I don't recall hearing ships getting hit like that again in the series. Plus the whole score cue for that long ending.

Way too many score examples to name.

In original Trek, I liked the background music that went with the Doomsday Machine episode. It nicely matched the action on screen.

Similarly, I liked the background music for Voyager's Scorpion two parter. It also matched the action on screen.

There are others, but this is what first came to mind.
